Can I get them from boots or superdrug?quote:Originally posted by JacksonB:those electrical things you put up your nose a couple of times a day, work really well, my mate got one, she couldn't take pills because she's breast feeding, and although she looks silly shoving red glowing prongs up her nose, she says it's the best hayfever treatment ever.quote:Originally posted by pretty~cocoa~eyes:
Help guys, my hayfever is terrible this year Im taking pireteze but its rubbish... Any suggestions?
Hi Pretty, I was taking the hydro stuff, commonly known as Ceterizine but it wasn't working, so went to the doc and he prescribed me 'Telfast' which is a combination of Fexofenadine and hydrochloride, and it has stopped completely. Be careful what you buy over the counter as most have just the hydrochloride as ingredients but just come under a different brand name. btw they don't cause drowsiness. Good luck.

I've had really bad hayfever since I was tiny. I've had everything under the sun to combat it and nothing ever worked that well until a few years ago when the doctor prescribed me a combination of Beconase nasal spray, opticrom eyedrops & Zirtek tablets. You can get them all over the counter but it's much cheaper to get the tablets at least on prescription. I swear it's changed my life in the summer using this combination. I'm gutted as I can only use the spray this year because of the bump, but even just using the spray is better than Piriton tablets etc. Honestly, it really does work brilliantly. Hope it clears up for you soon hun.
I was just going to post I only use Piriton these days because mine is getting milder BUT when it's really bad beconase nasal spray and opticrom eyedrops really help!!
Piriton does make me drowsy but I find after a couple of days being in my system my body gets used to it and I don't feel drowsy.
I have suffered with hayfever for over 40 years, every summer except for the two summers when I was having /had just finished chemotherapy when I was fine. I'm not suggesting you opt for that by the way
I've tried all sorts of things over the years but i was told you become immune to the same thing if using it year after year.
At the moment I'm using Benadryl, and it must be working because when I forgot to take it one day this week my hayfever was horrific!!

My friend has the Lloyds pharmacy contraption that that you stick up your nose. It's really rather disconcerting. She sat at dinner the other night with it up there, schnozz glowing bright red like Rudolph with a head cold.

the Benadryl fast acting ones are really good but can be pricey. Superdrug are doing two for one offer at the mo

Oh yeah...
I think the most exciting bit was watching it get gradually more neon.
Apparently, it works really well though.
