Its been a big life`s lesson to me to finally learn that there is no such thing as a friendship with a man, unless he`s your father, he`s your son or is gay.

Ooo, an emotional/inter-personal landscape!

I just cannot understand why they can't. I'd know pretty damn quickly if a girl wasn't that into me (even if she was flirting with me a bit). Marcus MUST'VE known Noirin wasn't that into him but he thinks he can ware her down so that she'll give in. How romantic.
Also, it's now all her fault and she isn't allowed to flirt or go near a guy now because of it? What's that all about? It's like it's all the woman's fault because the blokes have such big egos and can't cope with a knock back.
Marcus is 35 years old and the way he is handling all this is beyond embarrassing. Noirin is right - she wants a MAN. Not a sexually immature tw@t like Marcus!

Blimey. Does that mean "Yes, I love you" is like filling the petrol tank and keeping the oil level right? A tedious job for a man but necessary for smooth motoring.

Awww! I bet you're lovely really. But you can be an honorary bloke if you like. *hands out certificate*

Dance Settee - all this sounds really interesting - have you got any more info? I thought it was interesting that Michelle Obama touched the Queen and it was in all the papers.

A good start is nancy henley's book "politics of touch"...have a google
Yeah there was an interesting documentary on TV a while ago that showed the touching that goes on between various heads of states...can't remember what it was called (anybody???)
Was quite funny...showed all these male presidents and prime ministers jostling to get the "high status" touch in first ...they're all quite aware of the importance of it
It was interesting to see how male heads of state from other countries, who would overpower male heads from others, would then totally go to bits when confronted by the queen
Michelle Obama was interesting...either she's completely naive to the nuances...which i find hard to believe...or she was being completely insulting

*scratches chin*
Perhaps she's a bit of an iconoclast and prefers to deal one to one rather than First Lady to Monarch. I think I would be too. If I met the POTUS (Bush, Obama or whoever) then I think I'd be underwhelmed and quite nonchalant really.

I am sure no woman has ever had feelings for a man who doesnt give two shits about her and she makes a fool of herself.

The way I see it, whether you are male or female, if somebody comes to sit on your crotch, braid your hair, and just generally flirt with you, you're going to think that that person likes you. Of course you are.
