Hug Good for you Queenie, I'm very pleased for you.

Just a quick question for the peeps that have been/are pregnant... when you have a scan, how accurate are they at determining the dates of conception? I'm not preggers btw but someone I know is and it may turn a bit Jeremy Kyle if you get my drift.

I'm not really sure hun. I think they could be a week out with me but I can't be sure.

Thanks for answering. I'm hoping they are quite accurate but I guess nothing can be sure.

I can only say that I had IVF and so knew exactly the date the embryo was transferred - they told me the exact same date as I'd worked out from that Nod

About 2 weeks I think. My mate has been with this girl for about 8 weeks, nothing serious. She was with another guy before him. She has just told him she is 8-10 weeks pregnant (after lying and saying that she wasn't Mad) and he is now worried as it could be his. She is having a scan on Friday.

I would think they'll be able to narrow it down by more than two weeks, so your mate should know one way or the other on Friday - if she tells the truth.

Quick question Queen - have you had blood tests - I haven't had any since 12 weeks Confused

I can't think of any, other than the ones I had at 28 weeks, but they were to do with gestational diabetes and because I have a negative blood type. If your blood pressure is ok and blood type is positive, I don't think you should need anything else checked hun.

Thanks Queen. I'm so glad you seem to have found a decent midwife at last - I bet you are relieved Hug

I am. It's all getting a bit real now though. I think I'm just starting to realise that in around 8 weeks I'm actually going to have a baby. Eeker Laugh

That bit is quite scary isn't it? Eeker Big Grin

How are you getting on with choosing the pram? Big Grin

I am doing a survey of people who you get into conversations with who have prams Big Grin Am also looking on internet and reading customer reviews. All being well, we are hopefully going to go and get one/order one a week on Saturday!

Thanks hun. I've told him to go with her so he can hear it from the doctor himself. Sorry to hijack your thread.
Again, I'm really pleased you've sortedout the midewifery and can now look forward to the big day. Hug

It's a nightmare isn't it?! Laugh In the end we just started asking people we saw with prams we liked when we were out in shops. They're always really helpful because they've been through all the palaver themselves. We saw two very nice ladies in John Lewis' while we were making our final decision and they gave us the pros & cons of our two favourites. I can't wait to get mine now. Nod

And she was fab! She was here for an hour and a half and said everything is looking absolutely fine and that I should be able to plan for a normal birth. She measured me, took my blood pressure, checked my urine and basically did everything that my midwives haven't been doing so far. She also told me that I'm probably better not having an epidural, contrary to previous advice, because it won't actually help me with the fatigue and is more likely to prolongue the labour and result in an instrumental delivery. She said so far there are no reasons that I can't use the birthing pool or balls or anything else that I want. She's based at the hospital where I am due to give birth and is going to take charge of my birth plan etc and she said as long as she is available she will personally assist in the delivery too. I feel miles better about everything now. I'm so glad you lot convinced me to complain. Hug
Hope all goes well for you hun Valentine
