Thats gonna be quite a shock, specially for those who come out weeks later, to find out MJ died weeks or months ago.
When new housemates go into the house, I'm sure they will let slip, even if they are told not to.

Were HMs told about the 7/7 bombings? I don't think they were, and that was far more important than MJ dying. I'm sorry he's gone, but it's not a good enough reason to break the "no outside information" rule.

Besides who wants to watch them compete for airtime with the way they deal with that. You just know Sree would suddenly be the biggest Michael Jackson fan ever and go over the top with mourning and dramatics.

In the world scheme of things, Michael Jackson isn't actually that important. He's a pop star who made his name through overdone plastic surgery and innovative dance moves. The world will be unchanged by his passing.
I do not see why the housemates should be told about some singer dying. It is not exactly a world changing event, though the way Sky news is reacting you would think that somebody of real interest had pegged it.

To be fair though I think telling them about the London Bombings would have been a bit traumatic for the hms that year. I cant see any of them being too traumatised by Jacksons death so I dont think it can be compared.

Yes you are right, and I am dismayed that a person who's only claim to fame in the last twenty years was the changing colour of his skin and court cases, brings such sadness to thousands.
