perhaps similar susan's will get a chance in life

She's had her eyebrows done now anyway.
Do you think Edwardian's will win the FA cup this year
She hasn't inspired a generation to rebel
Unless we are talking about laydees of Susan's generation... in which case... its just not the same as the youff is it.
Also... Sex Pistols had their own material
They spoke words on the telly never spoken before!
And, as 'complete' as Ms Boyles eyebrows are, they didn't quite manage to shock the public as much as The Pistols and their ilk did!

But I am prepared to back the Edwardians in the footy.
(they stand more of a chance than Colchester Utd thats for sure!)

My only worry about Susan is whether she's psychologically able to cope with all this sudden hype and attention......"zero to overnight hero" syndrome.
Absolutely fabulous for her in so many ways, and long may it continue. But I just hope this gentle woman has genuine people around her helping to keep her grounded.

Deegs I love your sig
Is she still hot news then?
I don't keep up to date on news of Susan Boyle.

Her rendition of Pretty Vacant will be the acid test.

Oh Deegs, I feel exactly the way you do. I actually think the poor woman may have an almighty let down. I hope not.
No, theres no argument she's talented and has a great voice and is a nice woman. I just can't stand all this hype about her she's probably starting to believe it.
I think it's already started - she turned down an evening with Barack Obama because she'd rather stay home with her cat and avoid all the hoo-hah.
I don't like the way she's looked at as a lovable curiosity, just because she isn't some fake tanned, fake boobed wannabe.
Are ordinary-looking people so rarely allowed on telly now that they're seen as quaint freaks when one occasionally slips the security cordon?

It's obvious she's just a gentle soul and very naive, bless her. Watching her get so over-excited & red-faced & so eager to please (raging hormones, by the looks of it).....just saddens me a little, tbh. How will she cope & come back down to earth, if it all goes pear-shaped?
Just my opinion. I hope I'm wrong.

No Deman, that's not what I mean!
If she has truned down that Obama gig, maybe I have no reason to wonder about her after all.

Spot on Toid! The beginning of your post makes me feel reassured, cos I'd have thought (and I am not right up on my susan boyle facts but) that as she is so grounded... so level headed, surely she'll see whats going on for what it is.
I am glad she's still loving a night in with her cats!

Your post didn't come across as negative Deegs!
Relax, Deegs, I wasn't having a pop at you!
I just meant the general way she'd being treated by the whole Britain's Got Talent bandwagon and the celeb circus.

Yeah, I think it could potentially ruin things for her in the long run.
I read Susan Boyle was told by Cowell and BGT to have that makeover, they wanted to improve her image, but they spun the lie that she wanted it, she probably did but it was for them since she's going to be rolling in the cash for them .

I know that, I guess.......and gawd knows we've all had more than our fill of "conveyor belt" cloned Zlebrities
Here's what I see when I look at Susan Boyle. A dowdy single woman of a certain age. Probably stuck at home for years in some back-of-beyond village somewhere, looking after her elderly Mum and her cats. Probably never had anyone look at her twice - let alone notice her in any significant way. Very quiet & sheltered life - then suddenly, Cowell & the whole world is looking right AT her and heaping her with praise & adulation
My question is how she's coping with all this.
Have you seen her makeover? She must be feeling some pressure to conform if she has changed her image. Would we find her so talented if she was really pretty? http://gaysocialites.com/photo...n_boyle_makeover.jpg lol just saw the name of the webpage!!

...but surely part of her appeal is the way she looks? What I mean is no-one expected that voice to come out of something that, to be a little cruel, looks so frumpy!!!!
I thought she was going to be one of those fruit loops...and judging her on her appearance...well..who expected that....
