She said MP's have to eat out all the time in restaurants because they cannot get home from London to their houses, so what's the point in having a 2nd home then?. I thought that was the point, so the diry little scoungers had troughs to go back to, where they can make a meal and eat, obviously meals made from food bought that we have paid for, but still!!!!!!

Pooly, I agree with you completely, but you're going to give yourself a coronary at this rate.

Obviously he doesn't follow Matthew Norman's tips.
I say tips for I cannot decide whether or not his column about eating out in restaurants is some form of dry comedy.
Jeez, haven't they heard of McDonalds
Have a read about my most hated bloke (well him and his sidelick Freud)

once when I was on the dole I painted a mates petrol tank off his motorbike for him as "a favour" 3 days later I had a guy from the fraud dept of the dole knocking on my door, he said "we hear you have been doing work while claiming benefit" I said "I did it as a favour, I wasnt paid for it, he allowed me to keep the left over paint" and as an after thought I said "oh and he bought me a couple of pints down the pub"
HE replied, "well, strictly speaking that IS payment, but we will take no futher action this time, just take this as a warning"
and now I have to listen to the "scams" the very people who made these laws get away with,
BASTARDS!!!

A similar experience, I got hauled in to the social security office for answering the phone at my fathers house, because he ran his business from home, my answering the phone was interpreted as 'working' for him.

There was a prog on BBC 4 last night which appeared to be an Irish production, and was jointly based in Dublin and Hamburg. It was fascinating and came at the current economics from a different direction. I wondered if it was well received in the Emerald Isle?

You think the revelations just can't get worse, and they do!!! It's the little things that are worst IMO, just shows how greedy they really are...food....manure...

Well, David McWilliams (author and presenter) is loved and loathed in equal measure in Ireland. Personally I think he is one hell of a clever man and has his finger well and truly on the pulse of what's going on. A few years back he predicted the upswing in the Economy (in fact many credit him with coining the 'Celtic Tiger' Phrase) and he has astutely predicted the downturn too. I hate to pidgeon hole folk into classes BUT the upper end of the scale in Ireland hate him and think he's full of nonsense, the working class think he's an utter knob which leaves the middle classes who think he his predictions are spot on!
(Sorry if that bored the drawers off you Joe)
