What would happen to The Premiership of which Britan is so proud(rightly so..it's arguably the best in the world).

i wouldnt worry, it'll never happen, although a few seats for them in europe wouldnt go amiss, even if the only purpose it serves is to finaly put the nail into the coffin of the idiots wanting us to change to proportional representation.

What's so idiotic about having the amount of representatives in political seats directly relat to the proportion of people who vote for them?

because a proportion of the poulation will vote for the extremes, now that in itself isnt a problem but under pr that can get them seats even though only a tiny percentage want them to have one, this results in these tiny parties often holding a balance of power, look at italy before they abandoned it to see what an absolute farce it is or even at the london assembly where the bnp got in because of pr, the other issue is that in order to make an area large enough to have list votes it ceases to become local representation, many mp's may loose their seats at the next election either through expenses or because they are labour mp's but at least the new ones will each be elected to server their party and the local people and not just drafted in from some regional list.
