I once phoned the AA and said I was alone but my husband was with me - I made him stand behind a wall the whole time they were there

Silly really - it's not as if they would appear, see I'm with someone and refuse to help surely?

I don't recommended them. After they were bought out by private equity, they ditched loads of their road people and set sales and performance targets.

I broke down one Sunday and waited for someone who turned up after 2.5 hours to look at the car. He spent 5 minutes looking at it and called in the recovery truck which turned up 4 hours after the first call.

He told me that the first guy wouldn't tow me himself even though he could have because he's on performance targets and that would have had a negative impact so it wasn't worth his while.
