nope they go in there knowing that they will recieve no news or events from the outside world.unless it is family of course.
Personally I don't see why they should. They knew they would not see stuff from the outside world for potentially 3 months.
didnt they tell them about football scores or something once tho? am sure they did ..
Well if they do, they should tell Siavash about events in Iran...I'm sure he still has family there. MJ dying, as sad as it is, is not a news event they should break the 'no outside news' rule.
I said last night they should tell this, this is one of those world wide global news stories.
That said I don't think they told them about the London bombings either.

Indeed they should !

I thought that was because a housemate had requested they receive info about World Cup results. I understand housemates are requested by BB what "important" news they wish to get, although this is usually about their families health or exam/degree results.

Yes,far more relevant to a housemate.Perhaps his family are here too,who knows.
I do think that they should tell them.
Then they should tell them that Farrah Fawcet has died too. Anyway would Michael Jackson have as much relevence to the younger ones??? I know my son is only 11 but he'd never heard of him!!

OMG really?? You've never treated him to a few classics?? I think the time has come to introduce the lad to Jacko's genius!
He's into all that speeded up rave stuff (sounds like Pinky and Perky!!). It has me constantly shouting 'TURN IT DOWN!!!!' and has me sounding like MY Mam!!
Just chatting with some of the students about how they feel about it, what did they think of him? Was he a legend or a weirdo?
I would say 99.9% are saying legend.

MM I think a whole new genereation will be introduced to his genius now, downloads are going crazyquote:Originally posted by Mummy Maz:quote:I know my son is only 11 but he'd never heard of him!!

Seems the folk on Twitter have been asking Davina the same question!

They were allowed to watch a few minutes.
I believe that Timm was disciplined for trying to tell them results in code.

i think they should tell them, Angels eviction outfit has a Jackson look about it, so i think she should know if no one else
Wasn't there a HM that danced and sang a MJ song as they were evicted? Imagine if they weren't told and Angel moonwalked out the house.
I wouldn't tell them

I relly can't understand why they would need to be told???? If it affected them personally, say if it happened when Jermain was in the house, then yes. It's confusing me why people think they should be told!
it would be interesting if they gave them a Micheal Jackson task and we got to see what they say about him while they do it! i could see a few of them really putting there foot in it
they arent getting told - just been on heatworld and BB have released a statement saying they wont be informing the housemates.

good, that's how it should be
No there not going to be told, but if a new person goes in, they won't be allowed to tell them this, it will be hard for them, oh unless they don't know either with being kept away from the news with them about to go in soon.

It would have been interesting to hear what percentage would have said that yesterday though.
Although LaToya and Coolio already knew that Barrack Obama was the new President of the United States, BB did allow them to see some of the footage of his inauguration ceremony in January.

They didn't tell them about the terrorist attack of 7/07, so I doubt very much that they'll mention the sad news regarding MJ. I wouldn't tell them any news either, unless it directly affected them as a group or individually.

Very true. Most of these were born around 1990-92 so they will only really remember his stranger years. We asked the first one who came to talk to us what she thought and she said "weirdo, but most people may age do think he is great" so guess we will never know.

Aww sweetie, don't cry. I know how you feel, I'm a bit weepy too because it'll be a year since Murphy died next week.
It is true about Ben though. It's from the film Ben, this is the synopsis on Wikipedia.
A lonely boy befriends the rat that leads the swarm of trained/telepathic rats found in Willard. (The prequel). This rat, whom the boy names Ben, becomes the boy's best friend and keeps his spirits up in the face of bullying. However, the balance of power between the human and rat begins to shift, with Ben beginning to control the boy and the swarm becoming increasingly irrational and violent. Eventually, the police destroy many members of the rat colony, while others are sent to testing labs; Ben, however, survives.
