My OH can't hear it, and he's the same age as me, so I'm not sure really.
The other thing is travel sickness - it's caused by the bit of the inner ear that affects balance being upset, and that's meant to become less sensitive as we age, too.
Again, not me - I still chuck up in coaches and can't read or do anything that involves having to focus on long car trips.
