Completely agree with your OP China. I'm not a massive Susan Boyle fan either, personally I want eiter Stavros Flatley or Diversity/Flawless to win. Lets be honest, BGT & X Factor are modern day equivallents of the Victorian freak show, especially in the audition stages. Although they do unearth some real talents there are loads of acts that have appeared on TV that are clearly not 'the full shilling' as my nana would have said. We laugh at them when they get pulled to bits by the judges and audience and then storm off in a delusional hissy fit (and I do shamefully include myself in the proverbial we btw). Look at DJ Talent the other night, he clearly has learning difficulties but it was ok to 'gently mock' him because he didn't really have any talent or any chance of winning. Susan is unusual though because she is a combination of talent and social ineptitude. The judges have hailed her as a superstar in the making which is frankly ridiculous, she has a lovely tone to her voice but it's not trained enough to compare her to the likes of Elaine Paige. Nor is she socially or sadly, asthetically, positioned to achieve any lasting status in any real sense. Her celebrity is built on sensationalist hype which has nothing to do with the woman herself, and sadly she alone is facing the backlash as people realise she just can't live up tp that hype, when people should be focusing on those who started the hype in the first place. I think she will win, but that's mainly down to the fact the judges have put through two very similar dance acts which will split the audience vote.

What backlash has she suffered though? This is what I don't understand. To me, she has had nothing but support from the papers until yesterday when 1 negative story broke. I don't read the red-tops so don't know what they have said but if she can't take the rough with the smooth then she's never going to cope in the music industry. I blame it on the BGT media team for not preparing her better, but I certainly don't feel sorry for her.

Just said the same in another post Nod
