aww why doesnt my garden ever house friendly woodland creatures?? Frowner

only story i got to tell is the one where one day in July where i was walking barefoot through grass and managed to get a slug between my toes Shake Head not a happy day.

I must just be lucky.
I have all sorts visiting my garden; a fox, weasels, bats, frogs and toads, and even a deer once. There are house martins in the eaves, pigeons in the apple tree and a pheasant who keeps trying to turn my birdtable over.

My cats have learned to leave most of them alone...usually the hard way Big Grin

think we just have an unlucky garden Laugh
the only fluffy creature that ever visits us is next door's cat - and it usually leaves little gifts to be cleared on the grass Sick

Awwh this sounds lovely!

We've got a hole in our thatch which leads into the attic above my parent's room which hasn't got the hatch on so birds are constantly finding their way into the house especially in Winter. We get bats quite often as well.

Also, we always always get slugs in the kitchen of a night, which is less of a favourite of mine Disappointed

Hi LL, we always had tortoise when we were kids, but am sooo glad that the awareness was raised about these abused creatures. I saw some at our local garden centre and they were ÂĢ300, so at least you know if peeps are prepared to pay that much they will look after it properly.

Hi Pussy wavey

Yes I had two when I was a kid and agree with you about awareness being raised about them and having to get a licence now. I went online the other day and they ranged from ÂĢ100 to over ÂĢ200 - so too expensive for me. They are adorable creatures and perhaps one day I will be able to afford one Nod

They don't have ears like that, it's bizarre! And there's a bit of fox going on with the face, too. They're supposed to look like this:
