Perhaps the French have realised that our Royal Family are 'Nazi trash' and don't want to invite them because of that. 
Well...if the big american films/series are anything to go by....they won the war for everyone...we were merely the poor feckers who softened the germans and their allies up for 3yrs before they got there.....oooh...I can feel a rant coming on, so I'll leave this thread now....

I think it is a disgraceful snub to both the Queen and all our veterans who helped free France from the Germans at a dreadful cost and this is the thanks they get!!

the French have a "thing" about royalty anyway, they got rid of their lot waaay back,
NOT a bad idea (IMO)
BUT this whole who saved who,s asses thing has had me falling out a few times with some of our cousins over t western side of the pond, THEY aint to blame, they have THEIR version of history and we have ours,
see THEY say WW2 started in 1941, where we KNOW it started in 1939, THEY think we were done for when they " saved our asses"
they IGNORE that we had stood ALONE against Hitler for a good 2 years and where NOWHERE NEAR giving up, and that the brave pilots of the RAF had made sure that Hitler wasnt gonna invade us anytime soon,
in fact due to these brave pilots he had cancelled "operation sealion" (the invasion of the UK) and turned his attention to Russia,
and it was the brave and heroic men and women of RUSSIA who took the brunt of the nazis attacks, while WE the US and commonwealth forces had the time to gather ourselves and build up OUR invasion forces,
SO in reality if ANYONE "saved our asses" it was the brave men and women of Russia who died in their MILLIONS(28 million) giving us time to build our invasion forces, that "saved our asses"
