... for Susan Boyle is to just give her a few quid out of his own pocket. And by a "few quid" I mean something between 500k to a million, max. He's known for his charitable acts.

He should absolutely NOT try to represent this woman, or make her "worldwide star". He should NOT make it possible for her to earn 5-8 million. She wouldn't have a clue how to deal with serious wealth, and in a heartbeat she'd be surrounded by human leeches hanging on to her back.

I honestly believe that any more OTT hype will tip this emotionally fragile woman right over the edge. I haven't read much press coverage about her. But I have just watched last night's show. I watched this woman's facial expressions & immature antics as she dealt with it all, including when she came in second. It seemed obvious to me that more than enough psychological damage has already been done to her by this whole experience.

She now just needs a few quid out of this experience to set her up for the rest of her life, and then just quietly live among close family & friends and with her memories. (in my opinion

)

I'm just surprised with her personality she applied in the first place.

Just been announced on Sky News that she stands to earn at least six million from BGT, more than even Paul Potts.

They're clamouring for her to appear in the US and Oprah is desperate to get Susan on her show apparently.

If it was anybody else, I'd be saying "fair play to her - go for it". But not Susan Boyle, for all sorts of reasons

Yes, I agree.

She looked totally worn out last night by it all and seemed as though her heart wasn't in it. She also appeared relieved when Diversity was announced the winner.

I wish her well though.

I was shocked at her appearance last night. I always take anything of this nature in the press with a HUGE pinch of salt so have ignored all the stuff printed in the last week, but she looked out of her depth last night.

I didn't want her to win because I honestly believed her talent was over-rated but I was relieved when she didn't for completely different reasons.

Dare I say, she looked just a wee bit "out of it" standing on that stage waiting for the results. Mildly sedated, maybe? Who knows?

But her facial expressions concerned me a little.......

I just watched her last night due to all the hype and you could see by her reactions that the woman is not mentally equipped to deal with all the media pressure and questioning. Read this in Wikipedia:

"Born when her mother was 47,[13][16][17] Boyle was briefly deprived of oxygen during the difficult birth; she was diagnosed as having learning difficulties.[4] She says she was bullied as a child,[13][18] and was nicknamed "Susie Simple" at school."

I do hope the woman is allowed to go back to some sort of normality now, but I'm afraid not if sensational seeking Cowell and Oprah have there way.

Also you could sense & clearly see everyone's nervousness whenever she was on stage.

And and Dec looked petrified by having to talk to her.......she seems very volatile, unpredictable and liable to blow a gasket at any moment.

Me too....and she was shaking like a leaf when waiting for the results. I know that's probably a normal reaction

, but it was VERY different to her usual demeanor, especially when you look how confidently she handled the audition.

No disrespect to Susan but you can see she's not the full shilling with the way she behaves on stage. All that wiggling, showing her legs and acting all school girly etc are not the way a woman of 47 behaves.

I say 'good luck to her' for having a go and wish her well for the future but I hope she doesn't end up being exploited by some unscrupulous agents/managers.

I feel sorry for her the media built her up only to knock her down days before the final,last night you could see it at taken its toll on her, she wanted to follow her dream and she has ,she may not be able to handle any success she may have it would be hard enough for anyone but she just looked so fragile and worn out last night, in my opinion she is talented she was not my favourite on the show but would have been happy to see her win, there has been horrible things said about her looks people can be so mean and hurtful.

Someone said on a thread last night that she was drunk, having drunk a fair bit whilst waiting backstage but I'm sure that wasn't true. I doubt whether the organisers would allow them to drink themselves stupid in any event or, indeed, whether they're even allowed alcoholic beverages.

I disagree with the OP. Why shouldn't this woman chase her dream? Yes she is fragile, but surely with a good team behind her, they should be able to protect her?

In a way I feel sorry for her, Im sure she thought she had this in the bag with support from the media and Simon....

Yes Simon would have drummed it into our ears about her presence because she was the one who started the media frenzy....

She appears to be very headstrong, with diva-like tendenceis (even at this early stage of her career). Add that to her patently obvious poor social skills, and I have to ask, is she psychologically equipped to choose her team wisely?

As for "chasing her dream", that has to be a subjective thing, doesn't it? I would have thought she'd already surpassed all hers and evryone else's expectations the moment she first opened her mouth to sing on that show. That was the REAL defining "WOW" moment. Anything else is just added an bonus. So, when is enough really enough for someone like Susan Boyle?
