I say every year what a load of old rubbish but I always find myself turning channels and catching bits of it, Volari was the best song ever to win the Eorovision song contest I still love it
Of course it's a load of old rubbish, Marg. But it's just soooooooo OTT and camp - especially the Eastern Bloc countries' performances. Compulsive eye-popping viewing
My darling Mam, bless her, used to love Eurovision. I even remember her buying a big ballad winner from Luxemburg back in the 80s ("Si La Vie Est Cadeau") - she had the thing playing at full blast for the rest of the year
Volare was a classic, Marg.
Just checked on YouTube.....my Mam's all-time favourite is still on there. Have a listen when you have time, and you'll understand why I was practically deaf throughout most of 1983!

They had immigrant musicians singing some of our old entries, LL.
It was actually quite interesting to see them interpreted so differently. An Iranian band, who sang Congratulations by the Cliff, won it.

I'm disapointed Wogan wont be hosting it.
I only watched it to hear him become more drunk and racist as the night went on.

Only used to watch Eurovision to see what Terry would have to say about each country.
