Margate used to be nice but now its abit of a hole...which is a shame cos it has got a decent beach.

My in laws live 5 minutes up the road and the difference where they are is marked!

Older relations said that it was a beautiful lidl seaside town - bloomin shame

I think we should bring back all those old seaside towns - proms, piers, edwardian bathing suits

realistically they may well have had a good idea but was way to radical for margayyyte.......the family theme was alwsy going to be the poular one.......but that sour faced moo who ran the margayyyyate team was so up her own orifice she lost it....howard did well last night given what he had to work with

Its a bit tired and tatty now...the loss of Dreamland/Bem-bom certainly helped to kill it off.

Used to be the highlight of the year when we were kids...all aboard a double decker Red Bus and of to Margate for the day....

Lovely beach at Westgate, we used to take the kids for Picnics there in the summer.

I love Broadstairs, Stone Bay which rests between Broadstairs & Joss Bay is a lovely beach, Steep stairs down to a wonderful quiet bay, A bit of a sun trap as well.

I prefer Filey.

do you think the death of many a seaside town is but the arcades ect as in quantity rather than quality....all the tack when we go to the seaside we never bother with any of those places....there is a place for some entertainment and bucket and spade shops but they seem to have overtaken everything else......

Joss Bay is where my husband lost his first wedding ring...I love that you can go miles out to sea and its still only waist deep...

We always took the kids to Westgate cos it didn't cost a fortune...you don't have to pay to park, theres only a couple of cafes and the small pitch and putt so you can have a good day out only for the price of an ice cream if you want.

All the arcades will put me right off somewhere...

I went to Great Yarmouth once...I thought that was an awful place...it was like Deptford on Sea!

same here i hate the money clanging and the noise the look the very feel of those places bring it right down.....

why dont they have a huge indoor soft play area ...lets face it the weather is not our best asset so give families something to go to where the kids can play and get worn out .....

has anyone ever been to disneyquest?.....a fee to get in and floor after floor of unusual interactive games .....has to be run well to and not let teens run wild....but again indoor andf something for the kids....

Hmmmmmm goes to look up Ginkgo fossils..Isnt Ginkgo some kind of health thingy..

It's a tree. Fossils of extinct species can be found in Scarborough.
