I don't know if you're aware of this anomally, or if there'as anything you can do about it anyway, but....
When we first arrived here the message screnes were all white, within a few days you had changed the display so that alternating posts were on a slightly different colour. Alternating white and pale grey (some say pale blue), however a very few people are saying that it is still showing as all white to them, no matter whether they use IE or Firefox as their browser. Any idea as to why this might be and how it might be rectified? They report that they see colours the same as everyone else on all other sites. Thanks. Smiler

This is really strange. Your screenshot appears on my screen exactly as it should do with alternating colours for each posting. Have you tried printing out your screenshot on a colour printer - this should show the alternating colours.

I did a little experiment with my monitor and found that if I increased the Contrast that the alternating colours just became white. By decreasing the Contrast again, they returned. So try decreasing the Contrast.

I have increased and decreased the contrast, i have messed with the colour and every other button i can find. To get the the alternating colours i have to change things so drastically that i can no longer look at any other site or use my pc comfortably.

Ok, what i have done now is this. I just hope i am not damaging my pc by doing it. I have gone to colour adjust on my monitor. Then to colour temperature, which then gives me 3 choices. USER / 6500K / 9300K. I tried all 3. USER gives me an all white screen. 6500K gives me a green and white screen which blurs if i scroll. But on the 9300k i get the alternating blue and white that everybody else is seeing.

No, you won't damage your pc, the colour temperature settings affect just the monitor display. Just switch between the various colour temperature settings until you get to the best one for what you are looking at. Mine is generally set to 6500k but different monitors will give different results. The contrast and brightness settings will also affect the result.

By the way, with the USER setting, you should then be able to control the levels of Red, Green and Blue shown so that you can achieve exactly the right result for you. As you have probably never changed the factory settings the USER setting is likely to show a lack of colour. Have a look at the monitor user manual if you have any queries as to how to use this.
