I say men will continue to abuse women etc ... in response to the comment that some women, despite abuse, keep going back

Which is wot Tweety is basically saying

The situation of domestic abuse has been going on and will carry one forever though. There are some women that will be more susceptible to abuse than others because they are perhaps not as strong or confident as other women. But there are women, like me, who like nice guys, and would never stand for being abused by anyone, male or female. Not all men are bastards just like not all women are doormats.

great post one of the best on here and my sentiments exactly

hi tweety, long tme no see wavey
there is no one answer or excuse from either side, why we fall into some relationships. but that through the course of everyday life, we envisage a lifestyle that would suit us, so veering us towards the people and places that fit into that catagory.
as you are quite young, maybe this is all part of 'your' life experience, a sort of 'you have now been there, it sucks, but you can't say you have done it' yet.... you are going through the questioning stage, denial in way, and the 'was it for real, cos it still hurts' stage.
i am recommending you buy this book:

men who hate women and the women who love them

the title sounds harsh, but it's about all types of relationships, recognising 'patterns' we create in our lives.

have a hug Hug it takes time, may have to change people and places, but again, venturing into new territory can be adventurous!

I grew up in an abusive family, and as I got older I went on to have abusive relationships myself, I didn't think I deserved any better. Then I met my husband who is a kind gentle person who would never raise his hand to me. I have discovered that it is possible to row with someone and not have to cower in a corner. It's easy to make judgements about women in abusive relationships but until you walk in their shoes you can't really understand.

Maybe you're just sexually attracted to this ex of yours, He's giving off the right scent or something, the chemistry is right.
The other guys who you say are nice, well your head is telling you that these are the sort of guys you should be liking but you haven't any chemistry with them and that's why your not attracted to them.
So it isn't necessarily that your attracted to all ba****ds it's just that the sexual spark is there with this particular guy. It's an unconscious thing. Hopefully it will wear off!
