Friends you may remember that last year the winner of the american derby collapsed after crossing the winning line and had to be put out of her misery minutes after winning the race

EIGHT BELLES - had two broken ankles and was whipped to within an inch of her life

PETA are trying to change the cruel rules that surround horseracing

1. BAN OF DRUGS TO MAKE THE HORSES GO FASTER

2. BAN YOUNG HORSES FROM RACING ON UNDER DEVELOPED LEGS

3. FIGHT FOR SOFTER GROUND

4. BAN THE WHIP!

5. BAN OWNERS FROM SHIPPING HORSES THAT DON'T RACE FOR THE EXPORT PETFOOD MARKET TO LAUNDER THEM AWAY!

Horses are dying every year (not hundreds - thousands) from cruelty and heart attacks on
the race tracks

Don't be a part of this henious crime - never place a bet on cruelty

I had to skim read some of that Lil.... I find it too hard to read.

I already boycott the National.... I think I will now read up on the other races... I do have a flutter now and then, and if I am funding this kind of thing... then I will stop.
