So do I. But don't think he will.

I don't get why so many english people hate him so much for saying he wanted England to lose in the 06 World Cup.

I'm english and I admired his honesty!! Now he's saying he wants England to do well when he blatently doesn't. I liked him for admitting thta he wanted England to lose, but obviously his PR people have told him not to say stuff like that.

I really like his attitude and want him to win. Think he'll get to the final, but don't think he'll beat Federer.

Why? Ninja

Because I really object to what he said about England - oh and I don't like his attitude to the Davis Cup either.
His brother is completely different, I would support him in any match
But don't you prefer him to be honest? At the end of the day he's scottish, not english. I'd prefer him to just say that instead of now where he says he supports the England team when really deep down he so doesn't.

i'm english and I really don't mind him not wanting us to win. I just like him for being honest and saying it.

Yeah he is Scottish Crunchy but that's no reason for him not to play for the BRITISH Davis Cup team, I don't buy it at all that he was injured when they played.
Interestingly neither did his own brother.
As for the hatred of the English, I find it as offensive as any other kind of racism :shrugs
Wanting another nations football team to lose is hardly racism. Well I don't think so anyways.

well I cant stand Murraymint - I didnt like what he said about the English - and I aint even English Big Grin

Am devastated (tho not surprised as I actually follow the sport) - that Nadal has decided not to take part.

Looks like everyone is assuming that Murraymint might just win it now that King Rafa is out of the way.

I for one would like someone like Del Potro, or Roddick, or Warwinska or Monfis or Nalbandian or Ferrer or JC Ferrero or Lubicic or Fish or Hewitt or Blake or... get Agassi out of retirement.... or - god almighty - ANYONE!!!! so long as Murraymint dont win Big Grin Thumbs Up

I think he stated when he was 16 years old that he din't want England to win the world cup. I do not equate that for a hatred of the the English!Just daft Footy talk, get a grip!

Also, I think he has done very well considering his ordeal in school the day the gunman killed so many of his class mates.
