Thats what I do as well, If I know I dont have visitors I dont check who is at the door... But what do they do if no one opens the door, do they force themselves in?
NOPE they post a "sorry we missed you we will call again" letter
they can NOT enter your home without a warrant,
you dont have to admit owning a tv if they get you at your door, just say "no comment" and DONT invite them in, cause they will then report that you had your tv on and what you were watching,

IF they do collar you at your door say nowt, and get a licence as soon as he has gone or asap afterwards, lessens any fine you MAY get,
I THINK they can get a warrant after a couple of visits where they speak to you and tell you they have no record of a licence at your address, and have reason to believe that you have a tv,
and yes I think they CAN enter in your absence IF they have a warant,
the best thing to do if they have visited a couple of times is to either get a licence, or get rid of the tv for a bit, cause the chances are they are "on to you" by then,
I remember a case of someone getting "done" for not having a colour tv licence when they had only got a B/W tv, but because they had a VCR and it picked up colour signals and recorded in colour then a B/W licence wasnt enough,
I also remember talking to some Americans and the tv licence got mentioned, one guy said "WHAT??? you guys have to have a LICENCE to watch tv???"
he found it beyond belief that we have to have a licence,
but we are NOT the only country in the world that has this system,
So If I see the "sorry we missed you" note twice I should get a licence then? I already received a letter from them informing me that their officials will be visiting this month.. The letter wasnt addressed to me though, it was addressed to the occupier of the flat...
Its ridiculous what we pay for in this country, its like some sort of bondage....
its the price we pay for 2 channels with no adverts,
but the BEEB also own alot of the "freeview" channels and they get money from them by recycling old shows, AND showing adverts,

yes you do if you watch live online tv from the BBC then you need a license
The BBC News channel is available in the UK only. Don't forget, to watch TV online as it's being broadcast, you still need a TV Licence .

Otherwise for approx ÂĢ3 a week you get all thiose telly progs + Radio 1,2,3,4,5.
