I know I am not going to be popular when I say this but it I personally think they should have had a private service for family and friends

Sold tickets to a virtual reality concert using the footage of the rehearsal tapes - you know like they did for ELVIS & SINATRA

This way the tour goes ahead and all those involved keep their jobs including the dancers etc.

This media 'place to be' Staples stadium thing is completely OFF

I am sorry but I have said it! Disappointed

Keep both seperate PRIVATE SERVICE and MUSIC EVENT for those that wanna buy a ticket

If you mean all this hysteria Lil, then I am with you. But, Having said that, MJ would love it, especially when he was trying to convince us he was the second coming.
I was a big MJ fan until he thought he was the worlds saviour of children. The painting he showed Martin Bashir really freaked me out.
Even Jarvis Cocker said as much when he (Jarvis) jumped up on the stage and wrecked MJ's performance with all those children.Thats when I became uncomfortable with him.
But I can not take away his genius as far his earlier music and fantastic entertaining skills are concerned. But I can see in the not too distant future, people making him in to a 'religion'

I agree with you and i think tomorrow is going to turn into a circus.

I dont see a problem with a tribute concert.....Freddie Merc had one in Wembley and it was a cracking day. Axl Rose and George Michael...and Lisa Stansfield stole the day...lots of audience participatio and the sun even shone...sold the scarf and carrier bag and programme for a tidy sum on ebay too. Cool

I have no time for the whole Jackson circus....but people have the right to celebrate his life.

aww Lil I'm only teasing Hug

I agree I think this whole memorial is going OTT. I liked some of his earlier music and he was talented. Nod

I would have preferred a dignified funeral and a tasteful memorial at the Staples Centre but I doubt that will happen - it will just become an opportunity to generate more money for Jackson's estate Roll Eyes

and yes Penguins Rule Big Grin

This Staples circus thing is completely Sick

Haven't they forgotton something? Disappointed

Millions of people out there are affected by the exploitation of vile creatures preying on children

Guilty or innocent - they should NOT be staging a celebration of someone that may r may not have been such a vile creature

A celebration of what?

Sorry I wuld not like to take any chances that I might actually be paying tribute to a srry excuse for a human being Disappointed

There I have said it Disappointed

PRIVATE SERVICE - MUSIC EVENT - TWO SEPERATE EVENTS - APPROPRIATE

MEGA TRIBUTE WORLDWIDE SERVICE + MUSIC EVENT -
NOT ON YOUR NELLY Shake Head

YES BUT THEY WEREN'T PREYING ON CHILDREN FOR WHATEVER REASON

INNOCENT OR NOT - THE FAMILY SHOULD CUT THEIR LOSES AND HAVE A PRIVATE DIGNIFIED FUNNERAL

OUT OF COURT SETTLEMENTS DON'T MEAN INNOCENT

IF SOMEONE ACCUSED YOU OF SUCH A HENIOUS CRIME YOU WOULD TAKE IT THE FULL NINE YARDS TO PROVE YOUR INNOCENCE

I just feel that they are pushing their luck with this one! Roll Eyes

The public have been rather good about this -
EDWARDIAN LIL
I dont remember outrage when he announced 50 odd dates at the O2....saying he shouldnt be allowed to perform posthumously ( so to speak) is bizaare.

The only ones interested will be his fans...like it or not he was a worldwide act.

I won't be watching it and it wont be bothering me. I have no idea what he did or didnt do.....and at least childrens charities ARE going to benefit from his estate.

Iran worries me far more.

Agree - I adored the Jackson 5

I liked some of Michael Jackson's slo stuff too - a genius!

However, I am sorry!

I am going to put my love of music aside and stand by the victims of possibly one of the most horrible crimes against humanity

What signal is this sending out to the world?

Celebrating a musical genius or celebrating a pd
file

Even the bad press alone - should prompt the family to have a private service

I really thing they are pushing their luck here!

Yes...he had 60+ staff who could have walked in at anytime if they so chose....photos of him half dead have been bandied about the last week....I'm sure one of him laying in bed bald as a coot and wearing jim jams would have paid off someones overdraft.

I'm still baffled about the option to buy
your ticket for the original concerts for ÂĢ85.00 instead of a refund. Confused

How about giving the ticket to fans free of change, along with a full refund.

Nod What I understand even less is that people will go for it. People are committing suicide FFS. Time to get a grip. I can understand fans being sad, I can't understand people being hysterical and claiming to 'miss him terribly' Like he popped in for tea or something? You can't 'miss' someone you never met - all you ever had was music and videos and you still have these? Confused
