I would complain because it's incredibly insensitive of them not to understand that having a conversation in the middle of an exam is going to be distracting. The fact that it was bought to their attention and they still continued would suggest that they have no business being invigilators - go ahead and complain Nod

it did put me off - but i am not trying to use it as an excuse to get extra marks i just think that it is wrong of them to do it!!

Well if so, I would complain. I agree with Trix-ster though, you should do it now, before you get your results.

It will get them a telling off. I have invigilated before but wouldn't dream of talking to another invigilator during the exam.

If I did that my exams department would raise it with me.

the thing is there are areas of the room where they will be nowehere near the students so could chat - but it was just the fact that they did it right in front of me!!

Yes because there is supposed to be total silence in the exams Nod, and if it distracted you then complain. If you said something then they would have accused you of breaking the no talking rule and probably would have took your paper off you.

I doubt that would have happened, if it was THEIR talking you were bringing attention to.

Gah, complain and hope for some extra marks! Doesn't everyone have a cherished hamster die the day before an exam these days? Smiler

Some ppl always try and make excuses but I am not one of those - the day before I had my first exam and on the same day my mum had an operation so i was really stressed but I never mentioned anything about it to anyone at uni!!

I sat an exam yesterday and ended up on the first row (a seat i hate) anyway just after the exam began a couple of the invigilators decided to stand right in front of me and have a conversation - they were told to stop by another - but a few minutes later they were back doing the same thing!! So now I can't decide whether to e-mail a complaint or not!!!
Yes I would complain if they were chatting for more than a few minutes and they continued even when asked to stop. You would be booted out if you chatted through the course of the exam.
