I'm still undecided on the Fizz storyline, CP. It is dragging out - but not for much longer! (Not seen tonight's yet)

I tell you what though.... I'm actually finding the Molly/Kevin thing quite believable!
Thanks Kaffy Smiler Not sure about the Molly/Kevin thing. The jury is still out for me on that one. Smiler

Ooooh, I dunno, they've turned that Sally Webster into a right biatch....who could blame Kevin for going for someone with a much sweeter nature?

The Sally character overhaul is unbelievable but the falling for Molly I can easily picture.

As for the Ken Barlow and Ms Canal Boat (can't remember her name) story...what a load of tosh!

Hmmmmmmm, maybe you and Kaffy may have a point about Kev and Molly. I think I just think the age gap is a bit big... so that's why I am a 'wee' bit uncertain. But you never know. Smiler

And yes, the storyline of Ken and the barge lady (Martha?) was a bit pointless wasn't it? Frowner

Yes, Sally is a nightmare, and Ty is being a proper pain about the whole Jack thing, I think Molly is seeing him in a different light. I actually thought the scenes when Kevin took her to fun run were quite realistic and I don't think they 'look' so unlikely a couple.

I detest this story line. The Fizz is such a rubbish actress, the more she tries to act dramatic, the higher and whingier her voice gets.
It is the most ridiculous storyline in a long time. Shake Head

I agree - In RL she would never get near a jail and be given the opportunity to do what she did Mad - rubbish

Must admit, Tyrone with his attitude towards Jack and his new lady is annoying. What damn business is it of his if Jack has a new woman?

No, not just you. I agree, it was a good episode. Why can't people just see the good in the programme instead of just pulling it apart. It's nice to have something to feel good about sometimes!!!

I liked it too - have always liked Fizz - hope she is going to be happy for once.

Anyone else want to slap the silly face off Rosie Webster?

After watching this evenings two episodes I have to say that for the first time I felt that the storyline finally felt good. Something clicked with the script writing and I'm going to enjoy watching the outcome.

I like Fizz but felt sorry for the scripts she's had lately when she's always in tears when talking about John. I'm glad they're getting together though.

The Kevin/Molly storyline is a bit hard to believe atm as they've only been married a few months, but as they're writing Ty as they are re Jack we can see how the writers will build that up

Agree with the OP. The storyline of Fizz and John is stupid, and mind-numbingly boring now, and the actress who plays Fizz overacts, and it's cringeworthy to watch. And the storyline of Molly and Kevin that is just building up, is just pathetic. I don't buy any of it. Whoever thought of THAT storyline? Frowner

And why are they suddenly making Tyrone a nasty piece of work, and Sally a nagging moaning minnie? To make it 'OK' and 'acceptable' for Kevin and Molly to have an affair? Showing that if you are going through a wee rough patch with your partner, that the answer is to have an affair with someone else? Does anyone else think that's a 'good idea?'

Coronation Street writers need to be more responsible than this Shake Head Like Eastenders, Corrie's been pants for ages now. (Yes, I know I don't need to watch it! But I do, like everyone else watches stuff they don't much care for anymore, and then complains about it LOL.) Laugh

Sally was always a monaing minnie...but I agree. One of the strengths of corrie has been the character led stories and the fact they've left far fetched plotlines to Enders.I fear they are trying to change direction to capture some of EEs audience and awards.
Corrie has always(imo)been far superior because the characters seem more believable...but these current plotline are daft(and it all started with Ken and Martha Sick )

Clapping I agree Mazzy Smiler

TBH, I am still trying to figure out what the POINT was of Ken's affair with Martha, and I am also trying to figure out why Deirdre just behaved as if he had secretly bought 100 scratchcards and not told her. If my partner had an affair, my reaction would have been somewhat different to 'let's hear no more about it..' Eeker

Fizz & John - I'm not too sure about the melodramatic way this has played out, but I do think they should be together (and Yogi is right, doing anything to Rosie Webster doesn't count!)

Molly and Kevin - is completely believable imo. It's a drama - it's not a lesson in morals, and the fact is that newly weds DO have affairs, like it or not. The fact that it's wrong, doesn't mean it doesn't happen - or that it shouldn't be part of a TV drama (murder is wrong... but that doesn't mean they shouldn't screen Taggart of Agatha Chrisie surely?) The fact that Ty is behaving so out of character and putting his obsession before Molly makes it all the more believable.

Ken & Martha - actually, I think that was believable too. Ken has always yearned for someone to be what he sees as his intellectual equal, he thought he'd found that in Marsha. At the end of the day though, he didn't have the bottle to go for it after all these years. Deirdre's response I find more difficult to accept, but I think the premise is that they have both decided they've missed the boat and put their dreams away and are settling for familiarity into their old age.

Just my opinion.
Kaffs
