i thought sales of home air con units had gone through the roof in the uk over the last few years, i appreciate that whole house units arent as popular just yet over here but you can buy a good single room unit for less than ÂĢ600, heck in desperation you could always use a bowl of ice and a fan

Even if I had a spare ÂĢ600 I don't think I could justify spending it on a single a/c unit. Besides, it's not good for you.
Anyway, I've only got another two months to go, I'll just have to muddle through with my feet in a bowl of cold water and an electric fan on full blast.

I've got one in my conservatory, the unit is the size of a domestic fridge & can't cope with the heat sometimes. Who in their right mind would build a conservatory on a south facing garden? in the middle of winter one ray of sunshine and the conservatory is like a freaking greenhouse. Biggest mistake I've ever made, It cost 20K and would only have cost around 8K for an extention as hubby is a builder. I'd knock it down tomorrow if I could.
