nah,

a court would have agreed with BGT pulling her off the show
well, i reckon they would

but the stuff about her having a temper, and her tantrums and acting odd, chucking water over people, swearing cos chubby piers said that kid was a good singer
its not the behaviour of a 'spoilt woman'
its the behaviour of someone with a mental problem
and BGT should have seen that-f*ck me! i saw it and i was only watching her for a few minutes on the telly Laugh

Laugh This is true.
If I was Piers, I'd a little bit worried.

I'm glad Susan didn't win BGT, apart from the fact i wanted Diversity to win. She was ill equipped to deal with the limelight suddenly thrust upon her.
The best thing for her was NOT winning.

I'm unsure about this Ofcom investigation. Maybe there is something there to look into, the people from the show may have had an idea just how bad she was feeling.
however you'd have thought that if there were serious cause for concern her family would have spoken to the producers of the show beforehand.

Whatever the outcome it's clear that if she is to pursue her singing as a career she will need very strong people behind her to help her cope with the media attention.

true, I guess...... Nod But all the hype surrounding her while she was on the show has caused this. An emotionally fragile, hormonal & highly tempermental woman, suddenly being lavished with SO MUCH attention, after probably being largely ignored throughout her life? No wonder she's a wreck by now.

hiya darlo,

did you read in the birmingham mail, aidens moms interview, when she said he might be joining diversity?

After watching that brother of hers (who I REALLY didn't like Roll Eyes) sounding off yesterday, it wouldn't surprise me at all to hear about legal action against the show, on Susan's behalf.

Or maybe her "loving family" might settle out of court. Whichever, like I said yesterday, there's still money to be made on the back of this woman's mental illness.

i do aswell

dont get me wrong, i cant stand these moaning bast@rds who pick up the phone and whinge about anything and everything-like the 50000 that moaned about the ross/brand thing and they hadnt even bloody heard it in the first place-pathetic Roll Eyes

but 19million practically witnessed a partially brain damaged woman have a breakdown on live telly
BGT shouldnt have let her go on
it was wrong
i feel really sorry for the woman

I don't know about Ofcom being involved but I do think Susan Boyle could have been better handled by the producers of the show. Surely someone must have seen the instability occurring as the weeks progressed due to the outside pressure placed upon her which she was unable to cope with.

No good shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted IMO.

She looked absolutely wiped out on the show on Saturday. She looked tired and completely worn out poor soul and it finally took its toll.

I agree Hyacinth and even on the night when she walked on stage some of the audience was booing her poor woman ,the media has a lot to answer to in all of this just hope she will be okay Valentine
Marguerita
It was inevitable really, she was built up & up, interviewed here & America,, talked to Oprah & generally nade to feel she would be the winner. With the greatest of respect she is not all there due to an incident during her birth... so when she lost the contest it probably was not something she thought would ever happen & `lost it`.
Now I am not exactly a fan of her voice, it is adequate at best but its a shame she ever entered this contest in the 1st place imo as it seems to have done her more damage than good in the long run Frowner

(no need for ofcom though)

From what I understand (from threads on here so the info may not be accurate) she has very moderate learning difficulties.

The old *pat on the head* attitude...

Absolutely Leccy - according to her brother, Susan attended normal schools so she obviously wasn't considered a special needs child.

I believe she has just led a very simple life, perhaps rather insular to some degree. She is just not worldly wise and not well versed as to how cruel life can sometimes be.

Whilst she chose to enter the show, she certainly never expected this level of interest. She has been catapaulted from obscurity to fame and did not possess the ability to cope with it. It all happened so fast, it took the rug from under her so to speak.

I remember what happened to Lena Zavaronni - she was unable to cope with instant fame at her young age. Bonnie Langford could because she came from a showbizzy family anyway but, even though she took Lena under her wing, she still went off the rails and it all ended in tragedy.
I hope the same thing does not happen to Susan Boyle.

Fame sometimes isn't all it's cracked up to be. There is always a price to pay.
