I haven't used Freecycle, but looking at the site, when you registered you would have either been given a Yahoo address or you would have given your existing email address. So I think you should get sent emails from interested parties. If you have a look at the help page, it gives more info like what to do if you are not getting any emails, or if the number of emails you are getting is unmanageable.

Age concern used to take unwanted furniture and it used to be free pick up. Maybe you could try contacting them in your area?

what about the salvation army? they need furniture for some families and (because obviously you have plenty of time on your hands now the baby is born) is there somewhere you can place an ad "free to collector" etc.

If you speak to Mount Olympus she is an admin on her local freecycle....

Hya, do you have a local Hospice charity shop nearby?.. we have a place near us where they sell larger items like furniture that people have given them to sell on.. and they come pick things up and take them away for you... Great charity, hope you manage to give your sofa a nice new home...

I have got shot of loads of stuff on Freecycle.

You place the 'ad' then people who are interested reply via email and you decide who you want to have it.

Tip You might want to set up a Daily Digest for the emails you get for offers and wants as you do end up with hundreds a week.

I use freecycle all the time; it's great! You just never know what use someone might have for your old "junk". I recently submitted "old, broken-down patio furniture that's probably best for firewood" and it was snapped up immediately

Hopefully your group has a good moderator who sends things through quickly...sometimes it can get bogged down if messages stack up.

They will end up in your inbox. You get them as an email direct from whoever is interested.
