She’s no doubt left them in the care of someone responsible, and it’s up to her what she does. I just find it surprising that she’s ABLE to leave them and through choice. It’s a huge wrench for most women to leave their baby for even a few hours to go back to work after nursing, yet she’s potentially left her kids for 3 months with no contact at all. Very strange.

Usually parents leave their children for specific and necessary reasons - very
often it's based on financial reasons.
What makes Saffia's actions questionable is that she's done it to enter a reality
show. There's no definite contract, no certainty of any long term financial income (or short term for that
matter), or anything that would make most people view this as a good sensible 'business' venture.

Basically, it's cavalier and self indulgent.

dunno if anyone has said this-im too idle to read through Roll Eyes
but women have fought hard for equal rights for years
equal pay
equal opportunities
etc..
so why is it a woman gets slated when she leaves a child for several weeks?
a father wouldnt get the same treatment-stu did it last year but moaning jen got all the flack!
and its not like its forever

ive said this before but if the woman was a high powered executive who flew round the world to various business meetings nothing is said
but BB seems to bring out the 'women should be chained at the sink' brigade Roll Eyes

Mine probably isn’t a very 'right on' attitude but Mothers carry and give birth to their kids, and I think the bond is very different from that which Fathers have – particularly with very young kids (i.e. babies).
J
because she is that babys full time only parent. the one the baby is used to seeing all day everyday. then *poof* she's gone for a potential 3 months. be the same if it was a dad in same situation but dont think there has been so far?

plus no matter what rights and laws there are nothing stops biology.

nothing wrong with that attitude at all Shake Head

i dont think we should stand on judgement on how someone conducts their lives on BB-im quite sure the kids arent sleeping in a dog kennel under a canal bridge-but have been left with familar faces
we can slag off BBHMs for their actions on telly-hence the forum!

but its this old fashioned attitude that gets me
its wrong and out of date

i'll be back ina bit ive just gotta give OH some money to fetch some fags for me from the shop
im not going-its raining!

She's my least favourite so far. As for leaving the children, strange choice to make, I couldn't have done it when mine were young, but everybody seems to want their '15 minutes' now, so I'm not really that surprised.

Well, she has two jobs and the kids go to their fathers' at the weekends, so they are probably quite used to her not being around!

There's nothing wrong with women being 'high flyers', but presumably the balance at
home is adjusted to reflect this?
Whoever is the breadwinner makes no difference, but there has to be a bottom line if you like, when
domestic issues are the responsibility of one or the other partner. Caring for and organising life
around the kids often falls to the woman; it's not a sacrifice any more than it is for the male to
haul his backside out of the house at silly o'clock each morning, returning at even sillier o'clock
that evening.

You can spout equality forever more but the fact remains that people take on responsibilities in the
hope that it helps towards a happy family life.

im only going to judge HMs on what they do on telly and possibly after the show

her private life with her kids is no concern of mine
and i dont think it should concern any other strangers either

You're probably right, China. We can watch BB, form an opinion based on what we see.......and still not really know any of them.

The thing with Saffia is she either needs an early exit or to win for this to be of any long term benefit to her and her kids.

Oh, absolutely, but the baby must have a close relationship with Saffia's mum, if she is the one looking after them 'all day, everyday, and the father, who has the baby at the weekend.

I know 13 weeks Saffia leaves her 1 and 7 year old kids alone for. I would never do that
