Money talks... Atleast she is giving the young girl a better life
Hmmmm. It's typical of the way it's one rule for celebs and another for everyday people. On a plus note, I guess the child will want for nothing and have a fantastic life, but I agree that it should be one rule fits all!
I am really glad for the little girl. But something really needs to be done now to stop these rich famous people buying children. Because lets face it thats what they do.

That may be the case, but he will be brought up by a series of nannies and the like. I doubt very much that Madonna, will be getting up in the middle of the night, changing nappies and spending quality time with him.
I thought she had to live in that country for like 2 years or something, can you imagine Madge shacked up in some shanty house, methinks not!
money talks and babies walk
I wonder why rather than adopt, why not sponser a child so that it can be brought up in it's own culture but still have financial support. Maybe that doesn't make big enough headlines I suppose. I might just be being cynical though.

Very true. The child will never have a normal family life as such.
I don't know why but I find this whole celebs adopting kids from 3rd world countries a bit creepy, it's like they are not getting them for all the right reasons, is it a fad? Would it not have been beter to have given money to the area itself or to the childrens homes and therefor help loads of kids instead of just the one, I dunno maybe I shouldn't comment coz I aint got kids and don't want any myself so who am I to judge.

I bet there are some Malawian palms that are dripping in grease...
taking a kid away from poverty has gotta be a good thing
but its just the way madonna being madonna expects to have every written rule waived for her and then seems to stamp her feet 'til she gets what she wants
it makes her seem more childish than the little 'un shes adopting!
i like madge-but sometimes she can be a silly cow

"The country's Supreme Court of Appeal overturned a ruling by a lower court and approved the pop superstar's request to become mother to Mercy James.
The judges said the previous decision was a narrow interpretation of old laws which was out of touch with modern life.
Madonna's initial attempt to adopt Mercy, originally named Chifundo, was turned down because she had not lived in Malawi for long enough.
But the highest court in the country ruled it was possible to be resident in more than one place at a time.
Chief Justice Lovemore Munro added: "In our view, Chifundo James is better taken care of by being adopted by foreign parents who will give her love and affection."
Straight off Sky News, make of it what you will. Old laws can be changed, but for who really depending on your fame and wealth I suppose.
