well I wont be so much voting FOR Labour,
but more voting AGAINST the Tories

it's terrible isn't it..I never had a high regard for our politicians before..but after this scandal..they are all as bad as eachother. I'm seriously worried about the next elections..that having been said, I hope this expenses disgrace isn't forgotten about this boil needs to be lanced, whatever the cost But I still don't think the politicians truly understand the depth of feelings..they are still politically point-scoring and behaving like brats in the Commons
I hope it's not forgotten too and I hope that justice is done. Having said that, I just wish the public would get as enraged about other things as they are about the expenses scandal.

Give us a General Election!
brown isnt going anywhere without a fight and even if he does whoever takes over still wont call an election because the whole lot of them know most of them will be signing on the day after the votes are counted.
I agree that he isn't going without a fight, did you see him on the Andrew Marr show on Sunday morning, he was so much in denial, even more than Cleopatra was when she was bathing

Well I will be voting FOR Labour, but have no objection to people voting Tory. As long as no-one votes minority.

I am voting for the party that gives us the best chance of getting out of this mess as quickly as possible. So I will have to wait and see what the policies are come the next general election.
But on thursday I am voting UKIP because I want us out of the EU. Any political body that is defeated in a referendum then decides that it will keep doing referendums until it gets the answer it wants, tells me all I need to know about it.

Any party that agrees with referenda is pretty much doomed anyway. Once assumes that they haven't studied history.

If any political body/party do go down the route of giving its electorate a referendum then it should accept the result. It should also not be allowed to have another on the same subject for a minimum of 25 years.

I'm not a fan of referenda.
One votes in a party, they elect a leader, and they take decisions till we get rid of 'em.
The expenses scandal hasn't changed the way I will vote, the patronising way my local MP told me I needed to see the bigger picture of ID cards certainly has.
And just a note from the people of Salford re Hazel Blears, we don't want her back!

I have to agree and would add, any political body that has to lie to the populous about what it is in order to exist, ie telling people they will be voting whether they want closer trading ties with Europe (no mention of signing away political power).

And a party that is re-elected on a manifesto with a promise to hold a referendum and then reneges on it?...
I will vote against our bottom feeder MEP tomorrow, but I'll vote Tory against Labour and our Lib Dem MP come election time

(Do you read anyone else's posts ever?)
Our main beef with the so-called Labour Party is that we voted them in to sweep away Thatcherism and ameliorate the defects of capitalism. They haven't attempted to do either of these things.
Their position on referenda, or what colour wallpaper and toilet seats you bought for them doesn't even come close.
I shall wander into this thread to express my joy at the departure of Squirrel Face...and then leave

I shall do you the very great favour of assuming that you are not meaning to be gratuitously offensive, and leave it at that.

Grrr that grin , these people are supposed to run the country we'd do a better job at it , we're funding their fancy lifestyle and couldn't give a damn whether they are spending public money, only sorry when caught out like naughty school children . Good at keeping up to date .
