Not encouraging him would be a good idea - she had the perfect opportunity on L/F to say 'yeah I like you but we will always be just friends' instead she acted like a dumb twit and asked for a hug - what does she expect.
Tell him in words that are easily understood that his attentions aren't welcome.

I would have made my bounderies clear the moment i entered the house. I can't be doing with perfect strangers hugging and kissing me. They would have got a warm handshake and a face that said back off.

It's really difficult because sometimes just being polite doesn't work. She could for instance say "I really like you Sree... but... yada yada yada" and Sree will hear "I really like you Sree" and continue to stick like glue. He does not seem able to tell the difference between an adopted politeness and genuine warmth - or perhaps he just chooses to waive away the possibility that she feels nothing and will push it as far as it can go until she screams at him to stop and to leave her alone. He is already teasing with the idea that she is his "girl" and testing the water with "I love you"s to which she doesn't respond so unless he hears otherwise its going to be a green light all the way as far as he's concerned.

I agree, she has to be very direct if she wants Sree to get the message. Subtlety will not work with Sree.
I would ask big brother for a gi-normous fly squatter and squat him away like the annoying disgusting little bluebottle that he is!
Its a tough situation that most of us will have been in at one time or another. Personally I have been in Srees position over the years and occasionally in Noirin's. In Noirin's position I have tended to make sure that I give out no signals that could be misinterpreted and pretended not to notice the other persons! They usually get the message eventually! I like to avoid telling someone they are not my type if I can help it, so as to avoid hurting their feelings.
The difficulty is that there are some men who like women who "play hard to get" and they can't tell the difference between what is a flirty, subtle game and genuine disinterest.
