My son starts Uni at Kent on Sunday Crying I dont drive but he is getting a lift off some bloke he used to work for. However his car is small and once all my sons stuff is in he can only fit in 2 more ppl at the most. Both my daughters want to come with me, to make sure my son is ok before we leave him. So we decided we would go down and back separately by train. I phoned last night to find out the cost. I didnt think it would be too bad as I THOUGHT Kent was not far from London and it takes half an hour to get to London by train from here. For return to Kent for the 3 of us its ÂĢ80!!!!!!!! Eeker Eeker Mad Flippin eck! Frowner

Did you try online??
Try to avoid Fridays and travel after nine and before five.
Mrs Joe and I just bought returns to York for ÂĢ18 for the both of us.

Buy a family railcard for ÂĢ20 (as long as you have one under 16 with you you qualify)...you'll probably save more than that when you book the tickets...or you could get a coach for a fiver!

The railcard last a year and if you ever want to go anywhere else by train it'll save loads...that's how I managed to get tickets for my daughter and her mate Paddington to Penzance for ÂĢ12.50 (for both of them!)

no...look up fun fares...my kids often go to Westgate which isn't a million miles away and it costs a fiver from South London and takes about an hour and a half depending on how often it stops.

Right, train from Victoria to Canterbury for 1 adult and 2 kids...ÂĢ52.20 return but if you buy a family railcard for ÂĢ20 you can get the same tickets for ÂĢ27.15.

Journey time hour and a half.
oh right. Thumbs Up Thats a lot better, cept my eldest girl is 16 and looks 18 so I would have to pay for her as an adult too. I did look into buying a railcard tho,coz its defo worth getting one. Thanks croc. Big Grin
