I'd call that pretty organised .........I usually leave ours till two days before and am rushing to post it at 5pm the day before due date. One way or another I usually get it done on time even if it means staying up all night.

It's a bloody nightmare Sooz, our VAT office used to be in Southend Essex so we used to drive it up there at 5 minutes to Midnight, the security guard would stamp it to show you'd hit the dead line, now they've moved and if you pay on line you can bet that's the day Virgin Mediocre broadband goes down. Mad

We used to have a local office and I'd do the same - take it in at the very last knockings. I simply haaaaaaaaaaaaate doing the VAT - it's amazing how quickly three months go by - I laways feel that I've only just completed it when it's time to start again.

Fortunately our quarters fall different ..............over the Christmas period we're No, Dec, Jan (Due Feb) short month and always causes a panic - as does May, June, July (due August) usually holidays ..........it's all a complete pain in the rear.

My quarters are different too. It was ages before we realised that we were meant to pay VAT. So we approached them and they were very pleasant about it even though we were 18 months in arrears. I do it all online now. I am told that there is so much large scale VAT fraud that it is less likely that they will inspect as regularly as before.
