I check I have locked the door at least 8 times before I leave. I have three locks which I check, I say, "I am locking the top, I am locking the middle, I am locking the bottom" (in my head) then I go "locked, locked, locked, locked, locked, locked, locked, locked" as I press down on the handle 8 times. Then I force myself to leave and look at the door as I drive off thinking, did I lock that? Occasionally I stop to check.

I do this if I am leaving any house unattended. Its not so bad at mine because you can't see me until I step out of the doorway but I housesit for my Mum and my friend when they go away and their neighbours must think I am bonkers, seen them looking loads of times. I want to get them to tell me, "don't worry, you locked it" so I can leave in peace but then they would definately think I was bonkers. I have been known to drive back and check up to two hours later when I still can't get it out of my mind.

If I walk past the door while inside I always press the handle to make sure its locked.

I know, its quite bad but I think it is the only obsession I have Blush

Mr Bug has got so fed up with driving back to 'check' my straighteners are off or unplugged - he's lost count of the times we've done it and I always say it in the same place at the end of the road off our road. We have a note on the front door now Laugh
