Has anyone flown Virgin (legroom question) ?

Just wondering if its worth paying £30 for extra legroom (3 inches?!!!) for my BF who is 6'2 ..

I'm pretty sure I'll be ok at 5'5 but he's not looking forward to the 8 hour flight... Never been on a Virgin plane before so am not sure how much room there is normally??

Go for it hun...it will be worth it if he can sit more comfortably

My hubby is 6' 2" and I can tell you that he wouldn't be able to sit cramped up for 8 hours..although we usually go BA and their leg room is more than Virgins..

Usually front row, or beside an emergency exit is best for tall people. Try to get as much leg room as you can for him - never flown virgin, but most people I know either ask for an aisle seat or front/emergency exit seat, so they can stick their legs out.

Just asked husband (also 6ft 2), and he says yes, definitely go to for the extra leg room. He's travelled to the US quite a lot for work, and he suffered a lot of pain cooped up in ordinary seats.

Virgin are terrible for legroom. I flew with them to NYC and was incredibly uncomfortable all the way, and I'm 5'11".

best airline seats website

check the make of plane your flying on and look up the best seats and when checking in ask for them with a ten pound note secretly but conviently located in your passport/tickets.

I got sat in the extra legroom spaces (I'm 5ft 3) with my mum who is also 5ft 3, terrified of flying and right next to the emergency exit haha, we swapped with the man who was sat next to us' family. I'd rather be cramped than have my mum panicking every minute of the flight.

Ask them to allocate you bulk head seats, these normally have more room. They'll probably do it anyway as your BF is quite tall (and if he's got long legs, if he hasn't got long legs - borrow some stilts for check in)

Actually, 3 inches on a plane could make all the difference. We flew Alitalia once, which must have the largest legroom of all. 3 inches was noticeable.
