Renault are set to sue the Piquets over their claims of race fixing.
From what I can gather it seems that Piquet Jr claims that he was told to crash in The Singapore GP to fcilitate Alonso winning it.

Renault, of course, deny any such skullduggery. Smiler

Now it may well turn out to be true, but I have to admit that the timing of this does smack a bit of sour grapes.

Piqet having been sacked recently by Renault.

I heard Coulthard talking about this today. He said it is entirely possible Piquet Jnr was given team orders to do this. Alonso was on a three-stop race when most weren't. By instructing Piquet to do this just after Alonso had a pit stop he would get a distinct advantage by the 'bunching' of the field behind the safety car. Nod

like when couthard was ordered to "stall" in mist and rain so shumi crashed into the back of him enabling demon hill to win.

I doubt that. All that mist and rain would be too unpredictable. Coulthard and Hill were never team mates, I think. I really can't see interteam orders having much clout. Big Grin

Also, I don't think Coulthard was on the racing line, at that point.
