I can`t stand Jeremy Kyle.
One of the most obnoxious people on television in my opinion.

I find so many annoying things about this show.
It is like the same 2 or 3 little playlets, but with different actors each time.
Cheaters, massive insecurities, jealousies, and family clashes are repeated over and over.
There is always a feeling of deja vu. I`ve seen and heard it all before, just with different faces.
Even the script is the same.
"Liar" said while awkwardly tugging a heavy chair, or with pointed finger.
"I checked the texts on his (or her) phone."
Why on earth do they look at somebody else`s phone. Phone`s are personal and private.

Kyle will shout at people for saying "it" when referring to a baby - but it`s OK when he says it.
"Look at me" he rants. Why would they want to look at him.
He even tells them how they should sit.
("Sit up", "sit back".)
"Put something on the end of it" - always guarantees a round of applause, but he says it too often.
Kyle reprimands people for shouting, but he does it all the time.
"MY show". "MY show". I thought he was employed like the rest of the team.

The thing that annoys me most of all - why the **** does he sit on the floor? That is ridiculous and rude.

When he says (as he always does) "Let's do those all-important DNA results", I sometimes say to my tv screen "No let's do the ordinary DNA results - we can do the all-important ones another day."

I am also regularly struck that Kyle doesn`t even try to speak the same language as the guests. Some of his phrases leave glazed eyes and blank faces. They don`t always know what he's talking about.

He's always been an arrogant twonk, ever since he did a late night show on BRMB in Birmingham and he has been no angel in the past himself!

Sometimes do end up watching it, but always afterwards ask myself why!!

Reeeally? What's the dirt?

Gambling habit v. bad when younger, ran up a lot of debts and was nearly bankrupt, was involved in splitting a "marriage" up - which was later found to be a total scam and just generally, being an arse and not 100% about this, but there were rumours of drugs, always in trouble on his radio show. He was just the same as he is on the TV on that, shouty and judgemental, and when he left BRMB after the "Wedding" fiasco, thought he would never be heard of again.

My OH is from Brum, and he always reckoned BRMB was diabolical crap. Laugh
I seem to remember them getting into trouble for running a "win a car" competition - then handing over a tiny toy car to the woman who won.
She made a legal complaint that they'd fraudulently got people to spend money ringing in. And she won - they had to buy her a real one.

Oh yes one of BRMB's many scams. Does your husband remember the wedding one then?

JK ended up with the competition winner.

Brisket, you are absolutely spot on about it being the same play-lets with a different cast, except, to be honest; who'd really notice if the actors were rotated every five weeks?

The show is all about making viewers feel superior and specialises in tawdry tales pitched to make almost every viewer feel superior. That's entertainment!

For instance, I can imagine someone sitting watching thinking "I might have cheated on my husband but at least it wasn't with his best mate and I didn't have a kid!", "I might be a gambler but at least I never sold my children's toys to pay for gambling!", "I might be an alcoholic, but at least I never hit my wife!" etc.

Kyle attacks those who he makes an extremely good living out of with the vitriol of a fire and brimstone preacher. But the UK's not really into fire and brimstone preaching like America is (yet, anyway!). So Kyle's show provides a fire and brimstone moralising show with the religion taken out for a largely agnostic and atheist audience.
