It brought it all back to me, as if it was yesterday. Shame C4 had to ruin it with ad breaks every 10 minutes.

I still don't understand why the towers fell : The second one maybe because it was hit in the middle, but the first one, I just don't get at all.
The skeleton was steel which melted and the concrete was'nt strong enout to hold them up....
As they should be remembered. Weren't they beautiful?
They were indeed beautiful Demantoid .... I would love to have seen them .... absolutely amazing buildings.

I don't see them as saviours, far from it. But nothing could ever justify what happened on 9/11.
I watched bits of it in between manic lesson planning.
I have the Naudet brothers' film '9/11' on DVD and it's the most powerful documentary I've ever seen. They were filming a rookie firefighter and just happened to be near the trade centre when the 1st plane hit. As far as I know theirs is the only footage of the 1st plane hitting.

That was shown on BBC about a couple of years after 9/11 wasn't it? I remember watching that and seeing the first plane hitting, it's still the second one that shocks me though, you know then that somehow the world would never going to be the same again
I remember that day so vividly. I was on holiday, staying with my Dad for a week or so, and was on my own for the day. I was watching stuff on Sky, and something made me switch over to CNN and I saw the first tower ablaze...thought it was a clip from an action movie at first.
I started to watch the programme last night, but when the first person fell from the towers I had to switch over, I couldn't bear it. Still remember seeing the people falling on the news at ten on 9/11 and it was gut-wrenching enough then.

I was in work the day it happened & at first we heard that a bomb had went off in one of the towers . As we didn't have a TV we didn't realise the full horror of what was happening . I remember that the phones just stopped ringing & walking home the streets were empty , it was so eerie .
When i got home & turned the TV on & just sat in front of the TV for hours watching the same footage over & over again . I had such an unnerving feeling that it was the beginning of the end .

Same here at work saw it on the news and got goose bumps thinking about the repercussions that were going to happen.
Boy and did they come.
Boy and did they come.

yep they did but somehow ..............nowhere near as bad as I thought. i was seeing the end of the world as we know it. The world has certainly changed - no doubt - but not as I thought it would.
Do you think the world has become very very violent over the last 10 years or so.
There seems to be so many wars for point less reasons .Nobody seems to discuss things like they did.
