I love programmes like this.. makes me feel great about getting up at 6 a.m getting home at 8 p.m and paying higher rate tax to pay for people to sleep in to the afternoon..
Pride tupps...though I suspect if i lost my job I wouldn't get much help...wouldn't know where to start...
I have savings.. and I haven't popped kids out like there is no tomorrow.. I'd get bugger all..
Same here....I'd get bugger all either..
it's wrong Dev.. fundamentally wrong..
I advocate pure communism.. there are jobs to do within society.. provided you are able, if you don't do them, you don't eat...
That's the way I see things too tupps, I was taught that if you don't work, you don't have...simple as....
In a wheelchair? What exactly is wrong with Kieron?
How's that advisor got a job at the job Centre...not very assertive is he...
...as for the young lad...i can't, i can't...

amen to that, basic common sense really! Some people just won't ever get that though..think the government owes them a living

Me too. It's a work ethic.. you want, then you go out and earn it.

he lost his first job because he kept going in 'wired' fromt he night before, he then damaged his back, 3 years ago...probably when he was pissed...and...he can't do anything... Won't even entertain the idea of doing a few FREE evening classed to build up his literacy & numeracy skills..
I wanted to go to college (in my own time), can't afford the fees and get no help...
God, he is making me so f*****g mad..ungrateful, scrounging, lazy waste of oxygen..
That bloke with the bad back (my arse!) looks like a weasle - how ironic!!!
This is what pee's me off is that they all sit there smoking...
A - How do they afford it?
B - What will happen when they become ill with smoking related illnesses? They'll expect the NHS to help them, that's what will happen! Which of course the NHS will!

Thanks for the info, I was forming the impression he was a lazy sod.
There's plenty he could do. It just takes some application, re-training, education, whatever. It's not his dodgy back scuppering him.. it's his sense of entitlement and bone fricking idleness.

Exactly ;nod: Why do they waste their time & our money on folks who clearly can't be arsed? Why not concentrate on the people who DO want to work...
The advisors at the Job Centre must get so frustrated...
Haha he's been declared fit for work.
He was bending over perfectly well in the garden mucking around with the kids then...

I'm surprised they didn't keep him on the sick list rather than put him on the unemployment list....it looks better for the statistics this Government are so big on!
Absolutely nothing wrong with him And there's people who are really in need of benefits that don't get them...what a shocking state of affairs...
I'm proud of this country's welfare 'state'.. but it's supposed to be a safety net, not a bliddy hammock..

No of course about it. Not all smokers get treated by the NHS.
I have an illness which was aggravated by smoking, but I feel that I have done my duty as a tax payer for the last 40 years and that includes working and all the duty I have paid on cigarettes. Btw, I do work from home, just not as much as I used to be able to.

That's what really winds me up too.
I'm not paying tax into a social fund which also provides a safety net in case I'm out of work for a few months, I'm paying large sums to maintain another social class.

Indeed! It's in the wind. In our life-time they will begin to treat only the well and healthy people.
Not all bad news though, they won't need as many nurses and Doctors and this will release extra money to pay for more management consultants, auditors, trainers, and HR types.

Do you believe this guy with his 'bad back' ??
When I saw the ads I must admit I thought 'Faker' but after seeing the whole thing I thought he had a point. He had obviously genuinely hurt his back badly (unless the whole accident and pills were part of an elaborate scam), but there is plenty he could do even with a bad back. Work does'nt begin and end with manual labour.
I missed it last night ......... I'll probably watch it on C4 catchup later

He has to go back to Turkey to get it fixed....
I think that was the final straw - i think he should have been referred to NHS for X-Rays and been seen by a specialist - these scammers and the bad back syndrome - it is insulting to those who genuinely have bad backs !

MM, I am watching this and I shouldn't...it makes my blood boil...3 bliddy years ago he did his back in, have people no pride anymore....
Thing is there is genuine people out there and there's folk like this 'man' who get everything for nothing. My mum is 66 and is a full time carer for my Aunt who has had 3 strokes and can't get into the shower, mum applied for a grant to get a walk in shower and they've refused point blank, says she can manage when people help her, people being my OAP Mother. Make me so mad...
Maz = I think your NHS will give you the names of Occupational Therapists, etc who will will fit appliances to help your Aunt - and Social Services should be told she isnt getting the help she is entitled to sweetheart - so give them a phone or visit them - a heck of a lot is being done now to help older folks, problem is , they wont ask for help you see,but she is very much due this assistance - not help tell her xx

Malingering sh1ts most of them. Makes me laugh when they exaggerate their symptoms and think they are fooling the professionals.
i'm prone to a back back but i found it was steadily getting better when i was working in the kennels (which is quite physical). it was bloody murder for a few weeks till my back got used to it though lol!
i didn't watch the programme so dont know what kind of back problem he had. but there are types of jobs you can do without using your back at all

Perhaps with sanitised telephones there will be fewer sick people too.
