Snap Big Grin

I was paying BT approx £60 month for Broadband and phone. Broadband was crap.. always losing signal
Sky with an extra box was about£59 so £88 for everything on Virgin and much much better service is a great saving.

Im a happy girl Big Grin

I want it too Nod like you I've only got ordinary sky but I think it's expensive to pay for another box (and they ain't cheap) and then more money on top every month to record programmes.

I can feel myself giving in soon though Big Grin

It's brilliant, and as I understand it, you can't get those channels in HD on Virgin Media...

We've got a HD tele but we're not bothered about the HD channels. My brother has HD and I can't really see a difference. My hubby and brother can, but really only when wathing the footie. It really doesn't matter to me if i can see the individual blades of grass or not! Roll Eyes

Whats the difference?

Sky+ has a built-in hard drive so you can record programmes, it stores loads. You can pause live TV, rewind etc. and it is great.
oh, Ive got that but Im with Virgin. Our recorded programmes bit is ALWAYS nearly full up tho, coz my daughters want stuff like JLS ( Roll Eyes) on last years X Factor, etc kept, so we have hardly any space left to tape new stuff and I still havent worked out how you get the taped shows onto a video tape!! We bought a DVD recorder. They aren't expensive, we don't have one with a hard drive because we don't need one with Sky+. If I want to transfer to DVD I just play it on Sky+ and record onto DVD using the DVD recorder. If you use re-recordable you can wipe and use again like a video or if you want to keep permanently you juse use the ordinary recordable DVD.

Sky+ is good, easy to use. My criticism is that the sky boxes never seem to last more than a year (for us anyway), then it's £60 a pop to get it replaced.

We're thinking of changing to sky hd anyway.
