I can`t stand Charlie.
I think he is a horrible person, and one of the worst-ever BB contestants.
I know people see things differently. For example it is both amusing and surprising that the people in the house read a situation very differently from the viewers.
I also know that opinions are subjective and that one person`s meat is another person`s poison.
But I am baffled about how some people see Charlie.
I cannot see one single redeeming feature in Charlie.
And yet some of the guests in various off-shoot programmes have described him as "a lovely boy", "very nice indeed", "genuine and dead honest", "wouldn`t hurt anyone", "doesn`t say a bad word about anybody", "a really nice fellow."

Now it seems to me that there is a wide discrepancy in what they say and what I think.
It surprises me that some people see him as a wonderful, genuine, thoughtful, honest chap, and that I do not.
Of course I think they are very bad judges and that I am right.
But I cannot see how they have formed their opinion.

I agree with you, you're right and they're wrong.

I agree.

I think there are various reasons to explain it. Some people are genuinely blinded by anything he does that we would consider to be hurtful, nasty etc. They would side with him on any issue, almost in an obsessive/love type way.

Some just ignore his bad side and choose to only see the good in him and some people behave exactly the same themselves so can't see that he is doing anything wrong. It's the same every year with EVERY housemate to a certain extent. But some people are very poor judges of character, or they have poor insight and observation skills and they like Charlie have very poor self awareness and think they never do anything wrong. "I'm dead nice me" Yeah rrrrrrrrriggggght!

Brisket I have always respected your opinion as a forumer, and even when we do not agree, you never get personal or behave like a numpty. The fact that you are once again spot on regarding Charlie reinforces my point about you.

Obviously Charlie's act works for some viewers, though probably not for those who watch carefully/a lot.

I cannot stand his act. He is completely unspontaneous so when things don't go as he expects them to he just freezes up, goes silent and chews his lip frantically.
Loved it last night when, in anticipation of being evicted, he whipped his t shirt off. a nano second later Lisa's name was called and shirt back on. Obviously Charlie plans to be evicted bare-chested for the photos.

Imo, anyone with an ounce of insight should be able to see straight through him.

I'm not saying he's a through and through bad bast*** or anything like that .... but as others have pointed out, his true character comes shining through when things don't quite go his way ..... and all that acting in the diary room is just cringeworthy beyond belief Sick

He would like us to think he is all sweetness and light .... but we have observed and learnt otherwise Nod

Although never one of my faves, I gave Charlie the benefit of the doubt early on. He seemed to be just a cheeky, slightly dim fun loving party boy and of course that is part of what he is so its not suprising that some people just see that.
It took me a while to see the spitefulness and desperation to win that lurked close to the surface and I'm sure some more casual viewers won't have seen that even at this late date!
