This is true. However, I still consider Aisleyne's 3rd place to be one of the forum's biggest successes. I think the forum's continual support for her, and complaints about misrepresentation of both her and her fan-base eventually led to the press finally getting behind her in the last couple of weeks.

There were suggestions at the start of this series that the lower viewing figures would mean the forums would have more influence, but that hasn't been the case (although we really should have foreseen that after CBB).
Instead, we've seen a much wider division between the opinions of FMs and more "general" viewers. DS has been particularly "out of touch": they had Siavash to go over Marcus with >57%, and Charlie has been their most hated HM (over even Lisa) for ages. If the DS polls were representative, Charlie would have gone instead of Hira...

I think there are a couple of reasons for this: FMs tend to be a fairly cynical bunch (even more so on DS), and the majority (I believe) don't vote.
Also the loss of LF, with the resulting drop in media coverage, means that we don't get so many journalists lurking on the forums looking for stories.
