I used to work for a major household insurance company....you knew a dodgy claim when yuo saw one...especially when, for some people, they seemed to occur on an annual basis just in time to get paid out for Christmas shopping.
And the number of staff that used to lose the odd overnight case full of very pricey undies and jewellery was not worth talking about!

Of course not!
No. That's why it peeves me the amount insurance premiums are! Perhaps I should
I wouldn't dare TBH, too honest...
My Friend was a passenger in her then BFs car, he had a bump and she got around ÂĢ2k for whiplash, there was nothing wrong with her. SHe used some contacts through work (you scratch my back & I'll scratch yours kinda thing) to help her with the claim....
...it really annoyed me as she doesn't drive, therefore doesn't pay Car Insurance yet she thought it was great !!! Grrrr!

Croc would you be suspicious if someone had put 3 claims in 4 months for a new MacBook, the last one my friend had, her OH smashed it up (on purpose) but it still worked, so she ran over it with her car, and yes she got another one. I'm so angry
No ... never

When I worked there, (and it was years ago) with that history she'd have had a higher excess put on her policy....or possibly been refused cover at renewal.

don't know about the higher excess, but she's managed to get 3 new Mac's in 4 months, I didn't think she would get it. Plus she only paid ÂĢ600 for the first one, cos it was ex-display. She thinks its so funny.
Nope, never. I've only ever made one insurance claim, when my bag got nicked in Barcelona. The hoops I had to jump through - I had to explain (in writing) twice, exactly where my bag was when it got lifted.
In the end I got sarky and said it was approximately three inches from my right thigh.
They paid up!

Many years ago I had a summer job working in a hotel in Germany. One guest and his wife claimed that a valuable gold ring had been taken from their room and the Polizei (sp) were summoned. I was interviewed by them with the help of an interpreter and was probably 'in the frame'. Then a senior member of the housekeeping staff said she had been in the room after I had left it and that the ring had been there then. It turned out that this couple had pulled this trick in loads of hotels and made a packet out of it. Really scary experience for me at the time, though
