the way its going right now (havent read the link but)!!!!
C4 SHOULD scrap it and let someone else take over. The whole concept of the show has been lost. How many of series 1 contestants had agents for a start?
This years lot has really been quite a travesty. NO 24/7 live feed for starters, open nominations, day-trip for Lisa n Dave apparently - its all crap right now Disappointed

But after that it will only go ahead if the production house can flog it to a rival channel.

But this isn't news. We knew all this last year. Confused

Yup. In theory, C4 might have renewed the contract after BB11, but it was never that likely. Any chance was killed stone dead once C4 started pleading poverty.

I think Senora Reyes is right: Sky are probably already in negotiations with Endemol for 2011, and the Murdoch media are rubishing the show now in the hope that they can snap it up cheap...

I reckon Sky will come in for it and possibly use Sky 3 to provide 24/7 live coverage, win win situation, the fans get the live coverage, Sky get people signing up, although I think Sky3 could be freeview, but as I have Sky I'm not too sure about that.

Brummie, great local minds think alike!! An Audition for the housemates would be great, creating public interest and that way no wannabes would get in hopefully.

EDIT:= Sorry Broxi, it was your idea not Brummies, was speed reading

Sorry Hug

I'm not sure how much a new channel will help.

Of the problems you list (and we could all add a few dozen more - easy), only the lack of live feed is a C4 decision.
All the other problems are the result of Endemol decisions - they're nothing to do with C4.

C4 are responsible for live feed and insisting on a 13-week-plus run (too long, IMO), but all the other issues - HM selection, weak punishments, rule changes, messing-around with nominations, ridiculous stunts - are down to Endemol alone. Do you really think that would change if the show was moved to, say, Sky?

I think it would because Sky would want to get maximum viewing figures for the programme, even if it was on a freeview channel and they have experience of showing reality tv on their channels, and you can bet the amount Sky would pump in, Endermol would fall over backwards to give Sky what it wants.

Sorry, but there's absolutely no way Sky would put in more money than C4. For a start, the viewing figures would be way down, so advertising revenue would be too. The top-rated shows on Sky 1 get considerably less than 1 million viewers, and Sky 3 can't manage above 350 thousand. That will not increase if they purchase BB - viewers simply don't move to Sky just for one favourite show (for example, when Sky bought "Lost" over C4, the viewing figures halved immediately).

What will happen is that the Murdoch media will go into overdrive to promote the Sky show, meaning that the show will become much more geared towards tabloid stories in The Sun. And you're right: Endemol will bend over backward to accommodate them, with the show slipping even further down the road that we're all complaining about...
