I am hoping that the forum format will be a bit more user friendly then it is. I know it is a question of getting used to it, but that doesn't mean that we will.

It would be a bummer not to have this forum available for that night. Hope they can leave it until after then.
I pm`d Lori Jenny. It`s happening the first week of September but she doesn`t know the exact date yet. She`ll let us know when she does. Fingers crossed it`s not the 4th.
Squiggle, it's not re-registering, it's completing your profile. The reason for checking the availability of your name is because Live Cloud is incorporating more than just us and when new people join in the future there has to be a system in place to prevent them from having the same name as an already existing member.quote:Originally posted by squiggle:quote:Originally posted by CaptVimes:You DO NOT have to re-register you just have to give some extra details you use the same login/password as here.quote:Originally posted by squiggle:quote:Originally posted by SazBomb:

I am afraid you do have to re-register SazBomb, don't know why.
Well I hear what you are saying Capt Vimes but I have done it, it felt exactly like re-registering to me as I had to provide the same details I did when I first started here, including seeing whether my forum name was available. Some people are having real difficulty and if it was as simple as just carrying on then they would not be having those difficulties. Do you see what I mean?
Also, my understanding is, you only need to complete your profile and SIGN-IN if you want to participate in the 'Social Networking' side of things.
Can I further add that I think there is a bit of confusion over the terms 'Log-in', 'Sign-in' and 'Sign-up'. These terms are three different thing, but I realise any confusion is not made any easier by the fact that your E-mail addy and password are used for Logging-in AND for Signing-In.
Some have had problems registering because they are clicking on the Live Cloud logo at the top here instead of going to www.hoo.do.
Looking at the drop down menu on the black bar at LC can help in knowing what is where.
At this link is a Support page where FM's can post about any problems they're having, either other FM's or Steven will help out.

At this link is a temporary Forum someone started until this one is transported over there.

It's taken most of us a while to find our way around there but they're all extra options that don't have to be used, so if people prefer to just use this Forum over there they can once it's there

Not only did I have trouble registering on Livecloud, but somehow my login details for here got eaten in the process. I've had to create a totally new account. Bet you can't guess who I was before

If you do want to join in then click on Sign-In (near the top right) Make sure it is SIGN-IN you are clicking and not Sign-Up.
You should then be asked to put in your e-mail addy and password again then you will be asked to complete your profile then asked to Sign in (e-mail and password again) Once that has been completed SUCCESSFULLY you should be taken back to the Home page and you are free to join in. The first thing I would reccommend you doing is click ME on the black bar and select settings. Then uncheck every box you can find about e-mail notifications. Especially the one about 'Comment on my Content'.
I think I might have taken a different route to some others. I did a google search and found the live cloud home page. I then had to fill in the form and the first thing I had to do was to check the availability of my forum name. I then had to fill in all the rest of my details including email, dob, password etc. This is probably why I am saying one thing and others another.
But some people are finding that even though they have filled in all their details they cannot go any further. I am sure for some its more complicated than it should be for something which is not of our choosing but theirs, ie Live Cloud.
Theyve already done that merge it is the same password here as there.quote:Originally posted by Scotty:quote:Originally posted by CaptVimes:You DO NOT have to re-register you just have to give some extra details you use the same login/password as here.quote:Originally posted by squiggle:quote:Originally posted by SazBomb:

I couldn`t get registered with the password I use here. I was adviced by Lori that I had to use the password that I used at our temporary home at Eve.
All this misinformation is making things worse.
You arent making things easier by telling people to do it incorrectly though. You just sign in with your EXISTING user and password and then it asks you for more information which you have to fill in.quote:Originally posted by squiggle:quote:Originally posted by Extremely Fluffy Fluffy Thing:Sorry, but no you shouldn't have to re-register, if you can log-in here then you are already registered, but you do have to SIGN-IN and complete your profile if you wish to post on the Social Networking side of things. a) where is everyone on live cloud?,
b) is it separate to gaga and/or will they merge?
c) will gaga disappear after beginning of september?

(a)LiveCloud is not a forum ... it's a social networking site with blogs, groups etc. .... not as scary as it sounds ... when you find your feet and start exploring it starts to make a lot more sense ....
(b)It is separate to gaga, but the gaga forum will be migrated there the first week of September and will appear under its 'Communities' list
(c) Gaga won't disappear, but it will become part of LiveCloud
*Disclaimer* my understanding of what's happening ....

There are 2 links in my post on Page 3 where some are posting. Other ways of connecting to FM's is to click on their avatar when you see it in a post there and then click on their Wall on the black bar where you can say Hi etc.

When the forum is moved over, you can just stick to that ....
It will follow the same layout as LiveCloud though, which is why it's a good idea to get used to the site before the move if you can ...

Just trying to help CaptVimes. Are you using Live Cloud yourself?
Does anyone know yet whether if you have decided to use just the forum part the rest is still available to use or whether that's completely unavailable because it seems that if you don't fill in the form then your name doesn't show up as being registered. I know of at least 2 people who are in this position.
I am pretty sure you will have to fill it in to use the forum once it moves.quote:Originally posted by squiggle:quote:Originally posted by CaptVimes:You arent making things easier by telling people to do it incorrectly though. Just put any old rubbish in it does require you to. I dont know why it couldnt just have been defaulted it would have saved a lot of bother.
Ive played around with it, its a bit broken at the moment though.

I feel as if we are in little boats, you know like on a boating pond, on a very foggy day and sometimes you bump into another boat
