Detectives say the gang is too young to be prosecuted but would like to talk to them about the consequences of their actions.

Detective Sergeant Fiona Holland said: "We need to speak to the children involved to ensure they understand the possible consequences of the incident and ensure whilst they are out playing during the summer holidays they are also staying safe."
Disappointed

They can't be sentenced cos they're too young, they have to put them somewhere secure. It makes it so difficult to let your kids out inbetween the torrential rain showers.
I know life's not fair etc. etc. but kids should be able to play out. It's not right to have to keep them in line of sight they have to be able to grow up, but.... how do we do it.
Just recently the 5 year old nearly set alight, and a 5 year old near me was shot with an air rifle near her ear.
It is a sick sick place. Yet the majority of us young and old just want to live peacefully.

there is a boy who lives near me (and his bigger brother) who picks on my eldest whenever he is over here, luckily i've not seen him for ages, but i have to keep a CLOSE eye on the kids when he is around. he tried to get the other kids to hold my son down and kick him in the head till he bleeds once Angry luckily the other kids like my son.
his mum doesn't so much as tell him off.

And whilst I'm on me soap box, if I complain to neighbours about the vicious attacks on my daughter they just ask the little precious 'did you do this?' reply with a smile 'no mum'. And they believe it, even tho' my daughter has the bite marks to prove it, teeth marks not matching her own rabbit protrusions.
It makes me so very cross.

It really is high time the law was changed so that these young thugs can't hide behind it any more, but were punished in accordance with the severity of the crimes they commit.

I agree completely. If they're old enough to do it they're old enough to take the punishment. They didnt think about the poor kid.
More to the point if they do that now what will they do when they are older, they will get worse. Society needs to be protected and not doing anything is sending out the wrong signals. Its these wooly do-gooders I cant stand.
Bring back corporal punishment I say.We are getting too soft, so crimes like these are going to get more common.

Not only that, but these disruptive kids are usually the ones who end up getting 'treated' for good behaviour and the well behaved kids son't seem to get recognition at all....Shake Head
