I suppose in relation to, al-Megrahi being released ... humanity was indeed a weakness.

If the window-lickers had a scintilla of intellect between them they'd know that Scotland has an independent legal system that somewhat pre-dates the union.

It has **** all to do with the UK government.

If we have no humanity we might as well be in the same class as the people we are condemming. It is not a weakness.

He does not get a chance to be on the telly much, as that is only for his leader. So he was having his 15 minutes come hell or high water.

Humanity is usually a strength, not a weakness. It often takes more courage to do the right thing.

Still not sure what motivation was at work with the Megrahi case though.

Kenny was meaning that when Megrahi dies he will be judged by his God, a bit theatrical, but true, where he dies is irrelevant. Yes we have a seperate church, Cof S , the Queen is still head of tho

Of course the feeling of exploitation may simply be an emotion within the individual who's just committed the "humane" act. Without any basis in any external, objective reality - such as that can ever be. In which case, man up, get over it and stop being so insecure. Firm up that soul.

As I understand it, the UK state has the CofE as its state religion. Scotland is part of the UK so I suppose the CofE is the state religion of Scotland too. Yet the CofS broke away from the state after the Act of Union (I think, anyway) which suggests to me that it was the state religion in Scotland. The CofE must still be the state religion of Scotland in some way because its bishops are Lords Spiritual in parliament which has direct jurisdiction in some areas over Scotland. If you see what I mean.

Well briefly John Knox and co conspirators , didnt want Scotland ruled by catholics and broke away form a Presbyterian church , that is formed by elders, the C Of s is made up thru congregations and Chaired each year by A Moderator. The C of S does not have Bishops etc, It is a protestant church, of which the Queen is head. We also have A catholic church, in Scotland, I cant remember the head of it at the moment. Although the church does not have any real powers, as such, they have a lot to say in the law making. i.e pub opening hours, abortion etc. We cant buy alcohol on a Sunday before 12.30 for instance, till the kirk(church) is out!

As a rule I try not to know too much about church doings in Scotland. Sectarianism is a beautiful thing...
