No it isn't. That's just the typical stereotypical image - which I have described myself on this forum before - that alot of the audience wish to pigeonhole him into. Many other HMs in the house (such as Sophie, Rodrigo and Charlie) have far lower intelligence and knowledge.
Exactly Free Thinking, some people need to take a history lesson.

Neanderthal |nΙͺΛandΙtΙΛl|
noun (also Neanderthal man)
an extinct species of human that was widely distributed in ice-age Europe between c. 120,000β35,000 years ago, with a receding forehead and prominent brow ridges. The Neanderthals were associated with the Mousterian flint industry of the Middle Paleolithic. β’ Homo neanderthalensis; now usually regarded as a separate species from H. sapiens and probably at the end of a different evolutionary line.
β’ figurative an uncivilized, unintelligent, or uncouth person, esp. a man : the stereotype of the mechanic as a macho Neanderthal.
adjective
of or relating to this extinct human species.
β’ figurative (esp. of a man) uncivilized, unintelligent, or uncouth : your attitude to women is Neanderthal.
ORIGIN mid 19th cent.: from Neanderthal, the name of a region in Germany, where remains of Neanderthal man were found.
Unless he has travelled through time and the duvet is actually a teleopd, Marcus is NOT a neanderthal and the modern day usage of this a an adjective is so last century.
