I despise Charlie like many others,
but could there be a bias in our indignation?

On one hand, Charlie has MORE than shown how much of a childish bitch he is.
But on the other hand, Bea has shown a prominent streak of pompous grandeur about her personality.

Many have said (and i agree) that,
this particular "spitgate" doesn't compare to last years - mainly because of context.
While others, condemn the act as completely abhorrent full-stop...which i also agree with.
So, what say those who neither like or dislike Charlie?

For the benefit of those who didn't see it Live...

A typical Charlie stunt which went wrong yet again!

One minute him and Bea are messing around tickling each other and making noise, not giving a stuff for the other HM's trying to sleep..

Bea frightened Charlie, he runs out of the bedroom, comes back with a gob full of water and spit's it in Bea's face...

It takes a while for Bea to register what it is..

Bea gets serious, reminds Charlie someone got chucked out last year for spitting, she gets the humps tells Charlie it's disgusting, they both humpily go to sleep...Marcus was in the diary room at the time, and I have the feeling if he wasn't Bea would have charged to the diary room.

Lisa let out an exasperated "Charlie"

Charlie's response..."She scares us" Roll Eyes

I still think Bea will milk this today in some form or other....

I know it might sound bad to some, but I can't muster up an ounce of sympathy for Bea, simply because she's horrible and what goes around comes around.

Well...if you read and "understood" what was said in the OP..you wouldn't ask pointless questions... Roll Eyes

I'm one of the very few FMs who like and support Charlie - I have done since BB10 started and will continue to do so. However, I cannot condone the 'escape' of water from his mouth. The word 'spitting', as you point out, makes one think of the dreadful Dennis character last year who spat in a totally mailcious manner with the explicit intent of causing offence. Charlie meant no such malice and misread the parameters surrounding what he mistakenly sees as a friendship with Bea.

I think you hit the nail on the head when you refer to "bias in our indignation". There are many on this forum who absolutely loathe Charlie to the extent that it takes up a great deal of their time in posting (and answering to) a plethora of anti-Charlie threads, all of which pour scorn, poke fun, blame him for everything that's wrong with this year's BB and, perhaps the most insensitive of all threads, accusing him of neglecting his sick mother and/or using her as a medium to help him win this year's BB.

Another consderation: if Bea had really been that bothered by the event, why did she not complain to BB or, at the very least, move away from him? She did not - after her customary rant she lay down next to Charlie and went to sleep!

I wouldn't rank it in the same league as Dennis, although the eventual outcome is basically the same. However, I think it's one more example of Charlie being immature and irritating.

Ge is an ignorant Geordie and a let down to the good Geordies who work hard and are fun folk.

he is a let down - blubbering fool.

I have more sympathy for Rodrigo who has been on the receiving end of Charlie's spiteful stunts time and again, he's been goaded and provoked by Charlie. I've noticed only when it looks like it's going to kick off, and BB have thier footage to air, do BB step in...

Shame on BB. Charlie should have been given a warning about his behaviour weeks ago.

I also wish Rodrigo would just stop forgiving Charlie and blank him.

Yeh exactly, when I was at school I was spat in the face once and it isn't nice. It's disgusting. If people were spitting at each other you could argue it was a weird kind of game, but just one person doing it to another is a kind of degradation of someone. We aren't talking about infants, these are fully grown adults.

There's alot of hypocrisy in this forum. If he did it against a HM they don't like people will say it's ok, if it's against one they do like they'll say it's a major offence.

I agree it's a gross over-reaction and I'm not a fan of either of them...

it's not a very nice thing to do but to me if he'd been in the pool and scooped some of the pool water in his mouth, as little boys are prone to do, and sprayed someone water pistol style I doubt anyone would have said a thing.. and what he did in the bed strikes me as no different..

Both behaved badly.. .throwing/spraying water near the beds is daft and Bea over reacted. .in fact, after her initial laughing at first I thought I heard her say I am going to the DR at one point then she changed and just 'told him off' in her own inimitable way. .Charlie just sulked like a young kid when told off for being naughty..

it was pathetic the whole thing but no where near warrants huge outrage Laugh

I know Marg, that's why I love Roddy, he is forgiving, and he is very mature. I do believe over the last couple days Roddy has tried to distance himself from Charlie, and that I think is why Charlie went into flip mode at him and Sophie regarding thier friendship on Friday. Charlie has been spoiling for another argument.

that's exactly how I see it .........I can't stand Bea and neither am I a fan of Charlies ..........to say 'spitting' is really not to describe as it was .....it was a joke (in bad taste) kids do that sort of thing all the time.
