He's the last out of six siblings to get married and no break ups, so far.

Anyway, I've been married nearly 21 years and he hasn't tried to escape once. Glance

believe me -i love her to bits- but its a case of once bitten twice shy.. Roll Eyes
someone spoiled it for her

I've been married for nearly 13 years, most of which has been very happy, though not without it's rough patches. Personally, I like being married, HOWEVER...My mum was married to my dad for 16 years and he treated her like crap, humiliated her, beat her, slept with her mates etc etc. She was lucky enough to meet the bloke I call my step dad 23 years ago. He took her away from all the crap and has treated her like a queen for all those years. He's a bit younger than her and he'd never been married. He's asked her countless times to marry him but she won't do it. I want her to as well but she just doesn't see the point. Both he and I know though that she loves and adores him and that her reasons for not wanting to marry again are nothing to do with him. Your OH is like my mum, someone has spoiled the concept of marriage for her, but I bet that she views your relationship like my mum views hers. She is happy, trusting and comfortable enough with you to know that you will love, protect and honour her (and her son). She knows from experience that marriage is more than a legal formalisation, what you have is an emotional marriage and you are in it together for all the right reasons. She might change her mind one day but don't worry about it if she doesn't. If you both end up as happy as my mum and step dad, that piece of paper won't matter a jot. Valentine

When I was single, I sometimes used to envy married people. I can't understand why. Confused

You always have someone to go to the cinema or a restaurant with, I suppose. Also, some holidays can be cheaper with two. Other than that, beats me. Smiler

I couldn't stand the loss of freedom or personal space, myself.
